Phoenix, the operator of FamilyMart convenience store chain in the Philippines, has unveiled its first store in Cebu. The interesting thing about the new Cebu outlet is the size. Compared to the normal FamilyMart outlet, the one in Cebu is compact and is suitable for a place with a retail area of 15-20sqm. The investment cost is lower at PHP 500,000, which is up to 90% less than regular FamilyMart franchise packages.

A franchisee who will be initially opening three branches in strategic locations; Phoenix V Rama, Phoenix Banilad, and a standalone store in Banawa.

The express store will focus on the best-selling and original quick-service restaurant (QSR) products, such as onigiri (rice balls), ramen (noodle soup), and yakiniku (grilled meat). The stores will offer possible digital-based payment services for safer, contactless transactions.

Such store format will allow FamilyMart to expand into more places and attract more franchisees to the banner.
