Fore Coffee in Indonesia has launched a smaller 500ml version of its 1L drink. The popularity of Literan or one litre drink exploded during the COVID-19 lockdown as it is affordable and can be consumed over a period of few days.
As things normalise in Indonesia even though the number of COVID-19 cases remain on the uptrend, the smaller 500ml pack is suitable for consumers who might be spending less time at home.
We predict the Literan trend will have an impact on RTD bottled coffee as more coffee shops pivot into retail. However, foodservice coffee shop operators will need to extend the shelf life of their bottled coffee drinks to ensure they will have a stronger reach, while ensuring freshness and taste.
