Class Cafe in Thailand has introduced a CBD-based drink called Khaoyai Calm to make CBD-based products accessible to the general public, reported prachachat.net. The range was developed with Suranaree University of Technology.
Khaoyai Calm includes coffee, tea and food items including hamburger laced with marijuana.
We have seen similar outfit emerging including the 420 Cannabis Bar in Bangkok serving CBD infused tea and snacks. A hospital in the country Chao Phya Abhaibhubejhr Hospital in Prachin Buri even serves marijuana-infused cuisines.
Thailand is one of the first countries in Asia to legalise medical marijuana in 2019. The country since eased restriction on its use in textiles, herbal cosmetics and food products. The government is trying to promote hemp and cannabis as a new cash crop. Leaves, stalks, stems and roots of the plants will be removed from the Type 5 narcotics list.
As a result, CBD/cannabis products will be a key theme in food and drink innovation in Thailand in the coming years.
