NUTRISOY celebrates World Heart Day

Singapore, 20 September 2021  NUTRISOY joins the celebration to support the cause for better heart health this World Heart Day. Celebrated on 29 September every year, World Heart Day was instituted by the World Heart Federation (WHF) to inform people around the globe of the important actions individuals can take to prevent and control cardiovascular disease.

In light of this, WHF aims to drive action to educate people that by controlling risk factors such as unhealthy diet and physical inactivity, at least 80% of premature deaths from heart disease and stroke could be avoided. As a global campaign during which individuals, families, communities, and governments around the world participate in activities to take charge of their heart health and that of others, the World Heart Federation unites people from all countries and backgrounds in the fight against the cardiovascular diseases, as well as inspires and drives international action to encourage heart-healthy living across the world.

The global drive continues with the Singapore Heart Foundation which partners NUTRISOY. The Foundation serves as a social service agency at the forefront of the battle against heart disease in Singapore, and it plays an increasingly important role in saving lives and promoting heart health in Singapore. The Foundation is also a member of the World Heart Foundation.

According to the Singapore Heart Foundation, protein is essential for growth and repair of our body, and is required for many bodily functions including muscle maintenance, cell renewal, wound healing and immunity. To ensure adequate protein intake, one should consume a variety of plant proteins such as soya beans, especially for people who adopt a plant-based diet and incorporate plant proteins into their diets for health and environmental reasons.

NUTRISOY is continuously inspired to innovate and share the nutritional goodness of its products with consumers which includes vegetarians and vegans, as well as those who have adopted a plant-based diet. In 2021, the NUTRISOY product range became vegan-friendly and is made from natural and non-genetically modified soya beans with no-added preservatives.

Low in Glycemic Index (GI), the NUTRISOY range of products contains a high protein, calcium, and vitamin D3 content compared to other soya bean drinks. Soya beans are the only vegetable source that contains all 9 essential building blocks of protein known as amino acids, found only in foods. They are rich in iron, phosphorus, magnesium, B-vitamins, zinc and are made from superior grade soya beans without artificial flavourings and preservatives, and are suitable for those who are lactose intolerant. Soy protein and isoflavones found in soy milk are able to lower total cholesterol and low-density lipoproteins (‘bad’ cholesterol).

On top of the nutri-goodness, the NUTRISOY Fresh Soya Milk High Calcium Omega contains Omega 3 Fatty Acids and is available in Reduced Sugar and No Sugar Added varieties. Omega-3 fatty acids helps reduce blood clotting in the arteries, protects arteries from hardening, and reduces the level of triglycerides in the blood. Omega 3 Fatty Acids helps to reduce LDL-cholesterol (the bad cholesterol) concentrations in the blood. This in turn lowers the risk of heart disease1.
