Beutea, the popular homegrown Malaysian lifestyle tea brand, has announced the launch of its latest innovation, the Shiso Series, a limited-time offering inspired by the refreshing aroma of shiso leaves (perilla leaves or 紫苏).
Perilla leaves carry a pungent flavour and are warming in nature. Traditionally, they are used to dispel ‘Wind‑Cold’ pathogens, promote the circulation of Qi (vital energy), and harmonize the digestive system. The red/purple shiso leaves have a deep reddish‑purple hue that improve the visual appeal of the drink.
The Shiso Series introduces two signature creations:
- Shiso Bayberry Tea – A vibrant blend of tangy bayberry and aromatic shiso, layered over a Jasmine tea base. Enhanced with White Jade Crystal, this beverage delivers a rich, delightful taste that is both refreshing and indulgent.
- Shiso Peach Tea – A mellow, fruity infusion of peach paired with shiso’s crisp notes. Built on a Jasmine tea base and complemented by White Peach Oolong Tea Aiyu Jelly, this drink offers a lingering fragrant finish that highlights Beutea’s commitment to flavour innovation.
Shiso has appeared in Chinese foodservice drinks, especially herbal teas and wellness beverages.
