Frisian Flag from Royal FrieslandCampina now has a new Gula Aren or Palm Sugar variant in Indonesia in time for Ramadan. Gula aren is a natural, traditional Indonesian palm sugar derived from the sap of the sugar palm tree and is commonly used in Indonesian beverages like cendol, desserts and cooking.
Frisian Flag is going local by innovatively incorporating palm sugar into its condensed milk, broadening its use in Indonesian dishes and adding a special touch to Ramadan takjil and iftar. Takjil is the appetizer or snack at sunset, while iftar is the full meal marking the end of the fast.
