Acecook Myanmar introduces three new instant noodles under Yo Yar brand

The Japanese instant noodle maker Acecook has recently introduced three new instant noodles in Myanmar under the Myanmar-specific Yo Yar brand. The three flavours are Chicken Curry, Prawn Curry and Fish Bamboo.

Acecook has been quite active in the Myanmar market having marketed its instant noodles in Myanmar since 2014 and operating a local factory in the Thilawa Special Economic Zone on the outskirt of Yangon since 2017.

The instant noodle market in Myanmar is one of growth albeit with a slowing demand in 2017, up by a mere 3.5% to 590 million servings compared with a 23.9% growth in 2016, data from the World Instant Noodle Association (WINA) shows.

Acecook is competing against fellow Nissin Foods, which has a joint venture with local flour milling firm Lluvia Ltd. The joint venture Sar Taw Kal Nissin launched two local-style chicken flavor noodles under the Wah-Lah brand in August 2018. The two flavours are Authentic Chicken Sichet and Garlic Chicken Soup. The company subsequently launched two more products Authentic Korean Style Kimchi and Roasted Sesame Oil Spicy Sesame.
