Penang street food favourites, live chef stations and market-style entertainment take over Moxy Putrajaya this July, in collaboration with Courtyard by Marriott Penang.

PUTRAJAYA, 14 July 2025 – Moxy Putrajaya is turning up the heat this July with the Penang Heritage Food Bazaar, a bold street food takeover in collaboration with Courtyard by Marriott Penang. Held at the Three.6.5 restaurant every Friday and Saturday from 11 to 26 July, this curated hawker-style celebration promises to immerse guests in the rich culinary traditions and bold street flavours of Penang — all without leaving Putrajaya.

This cross-city culinary exchange brings together chefs, cultures, and iconic dishes, transforming Moxy Putrajaya into a sizzling tribute to Malaysia’s food capital.

A Feast of Flavour and Storytelling

From the wok-charred aroma of Char Koay Teow to the comforting spice of Penang Hokkien Mee, each evening is a deep dive into Penang’s culinary soul. Live stations brim with authentic hawker favourites and signature creations such as:

  • Penang Char Koay Teow by Chef Muslimim (Courtyard Penang)
  • White Curry Mee and Penang Popiah by Chef Zaim (Courtyard Penang)
  • Legendary Nasi Kandar & Pasembur Rojak by Guest Chef Rao
  • Signature Penang Hokkien Prawn Mee by Chef Jimmy & Chef John (Moxy Putrajaya), inspired by his hometown love

At the heart of the bazaar lies a unique chef exchange program, spotlighting the passion and synergy of five culinary talents:

  • Chef Jimmy Lim (Moxy Putrajaya): Known for his innovative fusion approach, Chef Jimmy leads the Putrajaya team with 17+ years of experience, infusing each dish with both technical mastery and hometown nostalgia.
  • Chef Muslimim (Courtyard Penang): A Western-Malay cuisine specialist, Chef Muslimim brings elegance and empathy into every plate, from his signature Assam Laksa to bold wok-fried creations.
  • Chef Ahmad Zaim (Courtyard Penang): With over a decade of experience, Chef Zaim is a champion of authentic flavours with a modern twist. His Penang White Curry Mee is not to be missed.
  • Chef John Lee Chung Wai (Moxy Putrajaya): With more than 22 years of experience and deep expertise in Chinese Cantonese cuisine, Chef John brings classic Penang flavours like Lobak and Char Koay Teow to life. His tenure at top hotels like DoubleTree by Hilton and The Westin Kuala Lumpur reflects a strong foundation in culinary excellence.
  • Guest Chef Koteswa Rao (Putrajaya Marriott): A master of South Indian and Chettinad cuisine, Chef Rao has nearly three decades of experience and is best known for his legendary Nasi Kandar. His flair for bold, spice-driven dishes previously wowed guests at Putrajaya Marriott’s Zest Lifestyle Restaurant during the iconic Chettinad Banana Leaf Promotion.

Together, these chefs will co-create a buffet experience culminating a celebration of culinary identity, technique, and cross-district collaboration.

Beyond the culinary showcase, the Penang Heritage Food Bazaar invites guests into an energetic, market-style setting designed to thrill the senses. Each evening will feature lively entertainment, including upbeat live band performances and interactive blind tasting challenges that test your palate. Happening every Friday and Saturday from 11 to 26 July 2025, the Penang Heritage Food Bazaar at Three.6.5 Restaurant, Moxy Putrajaya offers guests the chance to experience Penang’s street food scene without leaving the Klang Valley.

Guests can enjoy the experience from 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM, with pricing set at RM138 nett per adult and RM69 nett per child.
