Though not new, Hexa’s Chinese‑style seasoning products in Malaysia showcase how regional Chinese cuisines are increasingly permeating into local dining and home cooking. Hexa Foods Sdn Bhd, the maker of halal-based spices, herbs, seasonings and premixes, have made available Hexa Sichuan Mala Seasoning and Hexa Xinjiang Zi Ran (Cumin) Seasoning, which is Xinjiang grilled skewers to give them their signature flavour.

While mala has become widespread in the country, Xinjiang grilled skewers are gradually gaining popularity as a distinctive Muslim Chinese cuisine. Unlike local satay, which is typically marinated in turmeric, lemongrass, and peanut‑based flavors, Xinjiang skewers are seasoned with bold spices such as cumin and chili, giving them a smoky, aromatic profile.

Separately, Hexa has recently introduced Hexa Erymaze, a natural sweetener made from erythritol and stevia, Hexa Monk Fruit natural sweetener and Hexa Furikake, a Japanese savoury rice seasoning with seaweed, sesame and umami goodness.
