Venue: Basement 2, next to AXS (#B2-K1)

As Singapore’s first eco-mall, City Square Mall continues to lead the way in sustainability with its recycling collection drive to encourage shoppers to adopt eco-friendly habits during a period when packaging and household waste naturally increase.

Shoppers can take part in the drive by dropping off their items in the four designated collection bins, which include used and clean CP-Meiji 2L milk bottles; unused disposable chopsticks; clean bubble wraps; and used red packets.

The collected materials will be used for the upcoming Blooming crafts workshops (see next activity for details) or thoughtfully transformed into art installations which will be on display from 10 March, giving the community an opportunity to leave a lasting mark in the mall and witness their sustainable efforts brought to life.

Shoppers can redeem a workshop pass by spending $5 at any Basement 2 food kiosk, giving them the opportunity to craft unique pieces from recycled materials. Passes are redeemable 1 hour before each session at Basement 2 Customer Service counter.

On 31 January, shoppers can create fabric photo frames or magnets, resin keychains, or upcycled T-shirts transformed into grocery bags (shoppers have to bring along an old T-shirt to participate in the upcycling T-shirt workshop).

Meanwhile, on 1, 7, and 8 February, shoppers can make Chinese New Year decorations out of used red packets and bubble wraps, and bring them home as a keepsake.
