Starbucks Malaysia introduced its Protein Cold Foam on 11 June 2026 as part of a wider Asia‑Pacific rollout, following earlier launches in North America and Europe in late 2025 and early 2026.

Each grande‑sized beverage contains approximately 15–17g of protein, offering customers an easy way to enrich familiar orders and make daily routines feel more substantial.

The Protein Cold Foam is made with whey protein isolate — a dairy‑based protein valued for its complete amino acid profile. It is unflavoured, contains no added sugar, and is free from gluten‑containing ingredients. Starbucks selected whey protein for its optimal balance of taste, texture, and nutritional benefits in beverage applications.

Blended from whey protein and low‑fat milk, Protein Cold Foam creates a smooth, velvety layer crafted to crown Starbucks iced beverages. Soft yet creamy, it adds subtle richness and a rounded finish while keeping the drink beneath at the heart of the experience.

“As customers continue to embrace more mindful lifestyle choices, we are always exploring new ways to evolve our menu while staying true to the Starbucks experience,” said Zakiah Hanim, Director of Marketing & Loyalty, Starbucks Malaysia. “Our Protein Cold Foam beverages are an exciting addition that brings together personalisation, flavor, and functionality, offering customers a simple and enjoyable way to add a protein boost to their favorite beverages.”

Available in flavours such as chocolate and vanilla, Protein Cold Foam pairs effortlessly with iced Americano, Matcha and other favourites, adding a subtle lift to chilled classics. Customers can also personalize their drinks by choosing Protein Cold Foam as a modifier, bringing creamy texture and a protein boost to everyday orders.

In India, Starbucks launched a vegan version of its Protein Cold Foam in January 2026 through a collaboration with SuperYou, a modern Indian health and nutrition brand co‑founded by Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh. SuperYou is recognized as the country’s first brand to incorporate fermented yeast protein.

The Indian Protein Cold Foam is entirely plant‑based, formulated with bio‑fermented brewer’s yeast protein and enriched with added probiotics.
