Malaysia’s artisanal soda brand The Tapping Tapir is giving a modern, better‑for‑you twist to the country’s beloved Teh Ais Limau — the refreshing iced black tea with calamansi lime juice, often enjoyed in its most authentic form, ikat tepi (served in a plastic bag tied at the side). The new GutC Teh Ais Limau blends this everyday tradition with wellness, powered by prebiotics and a touch of apple cider vinegar, so every sip delivers extra goodness for the gut.

The launch arrives just in time for Merdeka month, when brands embrace local identity through innovations that celebrate Malaysian flavours and culture.

This is not The Tapping Tapir’s first foray into functional local favourites. The brand previously introduced GutC Assam Boi, and now both drinks stand as part of a growing lineup of local flavours reimagined — familiar tastes elevated into better‑for‑you alternatives, while still nodding to the everyday rituals Malaysians know and love.
