KUALA LUMPUR, 21 January 2026 – Pos Malaysia Berhad (“Pos Malaysia”), the national postal and parcel service provider, is charging into a new era of smart logistics with Malaysia’s first-ever autonomous vehicle (AV). This initiative, part of Pos Malaysia’s transformation and digital innovation and automation journey, accelerates its evolution into a digitally enabled, sustainability-driven logistics leader.

The exciting and innovative launch event was officiated in the presence of VIPs including YB Dato’ Fahmi Fadzil, Minister of Communications, and featured the signing of a collaborative agreement between Pos Malaysia, represented by its Group Chief Executive Officer Charles Brewer, and Autonomous Logistic Solutions Sdn. Bhd. (ALS), represented by Alan Chong, Managing Director. The agreement marks a key partnership in advancing autonomous, efficient and green logistics capabilities in the country.

Introducing Zelos – A Fully Driverless, Zero‑Emission Logistics Vehicle

Central to the initiative is Autonomous Logistic Solutions (ALS), a local company enabling the deployment of Zelos—a fully driverless, 100% electric, zero-emission autonomous logistics vehicle purpose-built for B2B goods transportation, particularly high-volume, repetitive, point-to-point delivery operations. As the exclusive Malaysian partner, ALS is responsible for bringing, localising, and operationalising Zelos in Malaysia, unlocking access to the world’s largest and most commercially deployed autonomous logistics platform

Tan Sri Syed Faisal Albar, Chairman of Pos Malaysia, said, “Our autonomous vehicle initiative signifies a pivotal milestone in our journey to transform Pos Malaysia into a modern, innovative, and sustainable logistics provider. Zelos represents more than just technological advancement, it represents a concrete step towards a more sustainable and efficient operation. The technology has the potential to reduce fuel consumption, optimise delivery routes and minimise wastage in our daily operations. We are proud to be at the forefront of Malaysia’s digital evolution and to lead the industry into a new era of automation.”

Charles Brewer, Group Chief Executive Officer of Pos Malaysia said, “Today, we are not just launching an autonomous vehicle, we are launching Malaysia into a new era of logistics. This autonomous pioneer is a testament to our commitment to innovation, efficiency, and serving our nation’s future. We are immensely proud to lead this transformative journey, and we are energised by the potential it unlocks for our customers and for the entire country. This is the first mile of a very long and exciting road ahead for Pos Malaysia”.

Alan Chong, Managing Director of ALS, added, “This collaboration with Pos Malaysia moves autonomous logistics beyond trials into live operations. By integrating seamlessly into existing post and parcel workflows, we are demonstrating that Level 4 autonomy is ready for real-world deployment. Together with Pos Malaysia, this sets a national precedent for wider industrial adoption and opens a clear pathway for autonomous vehicles to soon operate on Malaysian roads.”

This initiative is powered by 5G connectivity by ALS’ strategic partner, Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB). Its CEO Datuk Azman Ismail said this collaboration is an important step in Malaysia’s journey to accelerate its digital transformation. “Digital Nasional Berhad is proud to be part of this trial with Pos Malaysia and ALS. As Malaysia’s primary 5G connectivity provider, we are committed to supporting the nation’s development of an Autonomous Network as part of the country’s AI Nation plans. Ultra‑reliable, high‑performance 5G connectivity is essential to enabling advanced autonomous use cases — from IoT to autonomous robotics and vehicles. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with industry partners to unlock new innovations that will strengthen Malaysia’s future digital economy.”

ALS is bringing Zelos into Malaysia to fast-track the adoption of Level 4 autonomous logistics using a platform already proven at scale. Zelos operates more than 15,000 autonomous vehicles across countries including China, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates, supporting a wide range of real-world use cases.

Driving Sustainable Transformation

The introduction of autonomous, electric vehicles reinforces Pos Malaysia’s commitment to its Sustainability Roadmap, which prioritises decarbonisation, operational efficiency, and greener innovation across the value chain. By reducing reliance on fossil fuels and optimising delivery routes, autonomous EVs have the potential to significantly cut carbon emissions and enhance energy efficiency in logistics operations. This initiative builds on Pos Malaysia’s established leadership in sustainable mobility, as the company currently operates the nation’s largest electric vehicle (EV) fleet—comprising more than 1,500 electric motorcycles and vans—with 25% of its entire fleet now fully electric. With this scale and momentum, Pos Malaysia continues to lead the country’s logistics industry towards a cleaner, smarter and more sustainable future.

A Step Toward Malaysia’s Smart Logistics Future

As part of Malaysia’s first autonomous logistics deployment of its kind, ALS and Pos Malaysia will undertake a six-month Proof of Concept (PoC) within Pos Malaysia’s operational environment, serving as a critical first step towards ‘on-road’ adoption, supported by close collaboration with the Ministry of Transport Malaysia, Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan (JPJ), and Futurise to ensure alignment with regulatory, safety, and national autonomous vehicle frameworks. Pos Malaysia remains committed to supporting the country’s broader agenda for digitalisation, innovation, and sustainable mobility—strengthening Malaysia’s ambition to build a resilient, future‑ready logistics ecosystem that serves the needs of the rakyat and the economy.

This strategic milestone is aligned with national aspirations to accelerate digital transformation and green mobility. As the trials progress, insights gathered will guide the development of safe, scalable, and environmentally responsible AV logistics solutions for broader nationwide deployment.
