McDonald’s Singapore is giving its burgers a Korean twist with the launch of Jjang! Jjang! Burgers. The new Jjang! Jjang! burgers are marinated with McDonald’s sweet and spicy Korean sauce. It would be interested to know what makes Jjang! Jjang! Burgers different from the other McDonald’s Korean-inspired launches in the past.
Jjang! Jjang! Beef and Chicken Burgers are available from 5 May 2022 onwards.
Emborg has expanded its range of plant-based offering in Malaysia with the launch of two plant-based meat products. The two plant-based meat products are made with pea protein and comprise Meat-Free Mince (300g) and Chick-Free Strips (200g). They are high in protein and are suitable for vegans. The Chick-Free Strips (200g) is priced at RM 37 at AEON Supermarket.
Emborg previously launched plant-based slice cheese in mozzarella style and cheddar style in the country in 2021. The price per 200g pack was RM 22.95.
After getting the South Korean heartthrob actor Cha Eun-woo on board as Mister Potato brand endorser, Mamee has finally launched a limited edition Mister Potato with the “JINJJA SYOK” flavour.
According to the official description, the JINJJA SYOK flavour is a combination of spicy and sweet flavours. You just have to try it yourself. Mister Potato JINJJA SYOK is available at 7-Eleven near you.
The Coca-Cola Co has finally brought its space-inspired Starlight Coca-Cola to Southeast Asia following debut in the US in early 2022. In Southeast Asia, the beverage giant markets the beverage under the “Starshine” label.
According to the press release, “Thirty plus years after Coca-Cola went to space, Coca-Cola Starshine brings the inspiration back to earth through a simple sip. It is created with the vision that – in a world of infinite possibilities – somewhere in our universe, another kind of Coca-Cola product, another way of connecting with each other, might exist.”
“Coca-Cola Starshine combines the great Coca-Cola taste with a dash of the unexpected, including the reddish hue of the liquid. Its taste includes additional notes reminiscent of stargazing around a campfire that evokes the feeling of a journey to space.”

After that we did a taste test and to our surprise, Coca-Cola Starshine was probably developed by someone who missed Malaysia very much. Coca-Cola Starshine tasted like a milder version of the popular Malaysian drink asam boi (Salted Dried Plum Drink).

Danone’s Alpro plant-based milk is now available in Thailand in the form of oat milk. Alpro oat milk comes in two variants Unsweetened Oat Drink and Original Oat Drink in two pack sizes – 180ml and 1 litre.

Dutch Mill has recently launched Dutch Mill Dna plant-based soy milk drink in strawberry and purple sweet potato flavours. Sukishi Intergroup is offering a new all-you-can-eat black garlic and honey menu that helps diners improve their immune system. The Korean black garlic is known to help boost immunity against diseases, while the honey is designed to eat alongside the black garlic, which has a sweet and sour taste.
