Yili launches ice cream manufacturing hub in Indonesia

Yili Indonesia Dairy Production Base

The Chinese dairy giant Yili has officially put into operation the initial phase of its production base in Indonesia. Yili Indonesia Dairy covers an area of 17 hectares and is located in the Greenland International Industrial Center, BekasiWest Java. The new factory represents Yili’s ice cream production base in the country.

Phase one costs an investment of RMB 867 million with a daily production capacity of 159 tons. Second phase will increase the daily production capacity to 343 tons a day, thus making the factory the biggest ice cream production facility in Indonesia.

The state-of-the-art facility was established due to the surging popularity of Joyday ice cream, a brand that has rapidly expanded its reach to 260 local cities in 26 provinces, covering nearly all of Indonesia, since its entry into the market in 2018. In October 2018, the company officially launched the Joyday ice cream brand in Indonesia.

Moving forward, Yili Indonesia Dairy will cooperate with local distributors and establish cooperative relationships with more than 200,000 sales outlets in Indonesia and promote its products to a broader international market through Yili’s global marketing channels.
