In August 2026, as Indonesia commemorates Hari Kemerdekaan, CHAGEE is going local with a launch that blends flavour, craftsmanship, and cultural pride. The brand has introduced the Independence Day Milk Tea series, inspired by pandan and coconut — two ingredients that are deeply familiar to Indonesians. By weaving these flavours into tea, CHAGEE creates drinks that feel both nostalgic and contemporary, bridging tradition with modern indulgence.

The collection features two distinctive creations. The Pandan Coco Lapsang Souchong Milk Tea combines the bold smokiness of Lapsang Souchong black tea with creamy coconut milk and fragrant pandan, echoing the layered richness of Kue Talam. Meanwhile, the Pandan Coco Glutinous Green Milk Tea offers a more delicate profile, pairing aromatic green tea with glutinous rice notes, pandan, and coconut milk, inspired by Dawet Ayu.

Beyond flavour, CHAGEE has collaborated with Pithecanthropus, a Bali‑based clothing brand known for reinterpreting Indonesian heritage through textiles, patterns and design. Their craftsmanship is reflected in the merchandise accompanying the launch. These items carry motifs and patterns that evoke the Wonders of the Archipelago. Together, they celebrate Indonesia’s rich culture, creativity and homegrown talents, ensuring that familiar tastes and cultural roots continue to live on with each generation.
