Pizza Hut Indonesia has launched Saltzza (Salt Bread Pizza), combining the buttery, lightly salted appeal of salt bread, also known as shio pan, with the savoury toppings and cheese of pizza.
The launch taps into the growing visibility of shio pan in Indonesia, where the Japanese-style salt bread has gained attention across bakeries and cafés. Rather than simply adopting salt bread as a standalone bakery item, Pizza Hut Indonesia translates its defining qualities into pizza, using a soft, buttery and salted bread-style crust to create a more distinctive eating experience.
The product’s name, Saltzza, combines “salt” and “pizza”, reflecting the crossover between the two categories.
