Gigi Coffee Malaysia teams up with peanut butter brand Jobbie

Gigi Coffee Malaysia has partnered with Jobbie, a fast-growing local natural peanut butter brand, to launch the Going Nuts for Gigi series. The range comprises Creamy Nut Latte and Nutty Chocolate and uses Jobbie’s peanut butter. 

Available now for a limited time at all Gigi Coffee outlets except East Malaysia.

For Jobbie, the food service collaboration is one way to increase peanut butter consumption. 

Irvins gives traditional arrowhead chips a salted egg treatment

Irvins has launched its newest creation: Salted Egg Arrowhead Chips. The arrowhead chips are only available during the Chinese New Year season. Arrowhead chips are popular snacks during the festive season. What Irvins did to the arrowhead chips was adding the salted egg flavour.

Irvins has recently joined forces with Nintendo’s Super Mario. Each limited-edition pack features Mario, Bowser and Princess Peach in the mouthwatering flavours of Salted Egg Fish Skin, Hot Boom Salted Egg Potato Chips and Truffle Potato Chips.

Mission Foods Singapore offers two new healthy wraps, also available in Malaysia

Mission Foods has released two new healthy wraps in Singapore: Mission Wholemeal Protein Wraps and Wholemeal Salt Reduced Wraps. The two healthy wraps offer consumers a high-protein choice and a salt-reduced option for their wraps. 

The Wholemeal Salt Reduced Wraps has a unique formulation with a lower 134mg of sodium per wrap. The Wholemeal Protein Wraps, made from plant-based protein, are suitable for vegans and vegetarians.

Mission Foods has collaborated with social media personalities Charlotte Mei and Angelina Poon to showcase the versatility of the wraps for a healthy lifestyle.

The #OnABalancedMission campaign includes four innovative recipes: Kimchicky Wraps, Mediterranean Tuna Samosa, Lemon Garlic Chicken Thigh Wraps, and Chilli and Lime Prawn Soft Tacos.

The two healthy wraps are also available in Malaysia.

  • Hu-at! Cheong Gai Pizza with Har Cheong Gai Chicken (虾酱鸡) Bites on a prawn paste sauce.
  • Hey! Bee Hiam Melts, filled with spicy dried shrimp paste, chicken chunks and topped with chicken floss

Har Cheong Gai is a Singaporean fried chicken dish consisting of fried chicken wings in a batter with fermented shrimp paste.

Asahi Super Dry unveils exclusive pixel art edition can

Asahi Super Dry has released its exclusive pixel art edition in Singapore. Teaming up with renowned Japanese pixel artist Hermippe, the collaboration features an intricate pixelated dragon on the packaging to usher in the auspicious Year of the Dragon.

Asahi Super Dry has collaborated with Fragrance to launch the Asahi X Fragrance Bak Kwa Gift Bundle, which is available online in Singapore at RedMart and select supermarket roadshows.

KFC Chicken Bak Kwa range for an auspicious Chinese New Year

KFC Singapore has added bak kwa, or Chinese dried meat product, into its Chinese New Year time-limited offering. The new KFC Chicken Bak Kwa Burger is a Zinger filet coated with smokey Bak Kwa seasoning, topped with Bak Kwa bits.

The new Chicken Bak Kwa Crunch: Hot & Crispy Chicken is coated with smokey Bak Kwa seasoning powder for that “Char” coming through from Bak Kwa and topped with Bak Kwa bits.

For the Chicken Bak Kwa Burger, some netizens suggest ditching the chicken Zinger and having a burger with only bak kwa.

Jack Daniel’s and Coca-Cola in 320ml slim can has landed in Singapore

Jack Daniel’s and Coca-Cola in 320ml slim cans are now available in Singapore. The pre-mixed, canned cocktail has an alcoholic content of 7%. Jack & Coke is a cocktail consumers have known and enjoyed across the world. Combiining the two favourite drinks into a pre-mix makes it convenient for consumers to enjoy. For those in Malaysia, Jack Daniel’s and Coca-Cola is not yet available in the local market.

 

MrBeast chocolate Feastables now in 7-Eleven Singapore

7-Eleven Singapore has jumped into the MrBeast bandwagon with the launch of Feastables by MrBeast. MrBeast is a YouTube phenomenon with 236 million subscribers globally. Feastables are chocolate bars available in the US, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, South Africa, and more. In the US, the range has expanded into cookies and gummies. 

MrBeast’s burger venture through the ghost kitchen format has not gone well due to poor reviews. In Malaysia, MrBest Burger is still available on FoodPanda. 

 

Paldo launches Paldo Rice Punch in Indonesia

Paldo, the South Korean food manufacturer, has launched halal-certified Paldo Rice Punch in Indonesia. Paldo Rice Punch is Sikhye, a traditional sweet Korean rice beverage, usually served as a dessert. Paldo obtained halal certification for its sikhye drinks in 2023.

Sikhye has the potential to grow in Southeast Asia. This traditional sweet drink matches the sweet palate of Southeast Asians. However, Sikhye still needs to be discovered by many. Sikhye is available in Korean grocery stores but has yet to make it into the mainstream channel. 

The challenge for Sikhye marketers is to crack the code on how to popularise the drink. They can do so by having a unique bottle that consumers can identify as Sikhye. Next, have a famous K-pop celebrity or group promote the drink. 

Burger King Malaysia and Singapore have calamansi drink menu for Chinese New Year

Burger King Singapore has released its latest citrusy menu with Chinese New Year just around the corner. The new menu items are Salted Calamansi Sundae, Salted Calamansi Sprite Float and Orange Nata de Coco Pie.

In Malaysia, Burger King has launched the Lucky Your Way series comprising Lucky Tendergrill, Lucky Salmon & Lucky Double Beef as well as Lime Flavoured Fizz to celebrate Chinese New Year.

Calamansi is the featured ingredient in the limited-edition festive drinks in both markets.
