Modern Cantonese Restaurant and Bar, Mitzo, is celebrating Old Fashioned Week with a specially created cocktail by Head Bartender Azlam Kadir named, #IAmOldFashioned, and is available for a limited period from1 to 10 November, at $18++ per glass.
Head Bartender Azlam reimagines this classic drink with modern Cantonese flavours, showcasing his refined touch and innovative flair. Indulge in this contemporary take as Azlam uses Woodford Reserve Bourbon that has been infused with red dates and longan tea for seven days, bringing forth a sweet and refreshing essence. The cocktail is then completed with bitters and flamed Benedictine DOM, presenting a pleasant herbal aroma to enchant the senses. Specially tailored to pair perfectly with the Cantonese cuisine at Mitzo, this refreshing tipple is not to be missed!
Smoke & Mirrors
Destination rooftop cocktail bar, Smoke & Mirrors’ Head Bartender Jorge A. Conde has put his own creative spin on the beloved whiskey cocktail, infusing a mix of savoury and sweet flavours into the Popcorn Old Fashioned. Beginning with a base of spicy Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey blended with the sweeter Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon, Jorge layers in unusual flavours of Japanese Sencha green tea, roasted rice, popcorn and butterscotch for the spirit-forward cocktail.
The Popcorn Old Fashioned will be available at Smoke & Mirrors for a limited run at S$22++ from 1 to 10 November 2019 as part of Old Fashioned Week, an open festival which gives prominence to spirit connoisseurs’ favourite cocktail and bartenders’ creativity.
