Lotus’s Malaysia, formerly Tesco, has launched vending machines initially at 10 locations including at Lotus’s outlets, highway rest stops and at a condomiumium.

The items are not 100% Lotus’s private label items, which is a good sign. We feel vending machine will be a trend as it has the potential to tap into proximity shopping and allow retail brands to have a greater presence in key underserved locations. Vending machine also rides on the contactless shopping trend in the wake of the pandemic.
