Etika Promotes Safety Awareness Through Annual HSE Event, Extends Invitation to the Public to Cultivate Safety Habits Together

Speech by Tuan TPGB Khairuddin Bin Jamaluddin, Ketua Balai Bomba Bandar Baru Bangi

BANGI, 29 August 2023 – Etika has once again organised its 1-day Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) programme and exhibition at their Bangi office. Traditionally an in-house affair for Etika’s employees, this year’s programme access was extended to the public, particularly those residing in the Kajang and Bangi areas in their aim to cultivate good safety practice and behaviour in their workplace and beyond.

An annual tradition at Etika with the 2022 programme edition proving to be a resounding success, the company has planned engaging programmes to heighten safety awareness and foster a culture of well-being. An upgraded edition from its previous years with Etika opening its doors to the local community, some of the highlights during this year’s HSE Day include blood donation drives, health screenings, informative exhibitions, as well as road and fire safety demo conducted by government agencies.

Santharuban Thurai Sundaram, Chief Executive Officer of Etika Group of Companies (Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei) said “Our primary objective behind the HSE event first and foremost is to increase employee safety awareness and prevent workplace incidents, while ensuring we adhere to our commitment to achieving minimum lost time injuries (LTI) or accidents. As we achieve this commitment, we also note that it is pertinent that continuous good safety practice and behaviour is an aspect that needs to be paid attention to even outside of our workplace. Through this year’s programme with the local community from Kajang and Bangi, Etika hopes to be able to extend the positive impact beyond our organisation’s walls and making a change in the lives of our community.”

Etika firmly believes in the effectiveness of behavioral-based safety practices to prevent workplace incidents and ensure the safe return of employees to their homes. Committed to undertaking operations and bringing excellence forward per its vision of “Happiness Made Simple – We Care, We share, We Grow Together”, Etika encourages practicing these principles within the workplace and in daily life, promoting a safer society for all.
