Capitol Singapore and CHIJMES Present Island Nights and Good Vibes as part of the Singapore Night Festival 2025

SINGAPORE, 19 AUGUST 2025 – This August, the Singapore Night Festival (SNF) returns, and Capitol Singapore and CHIJMES are set to shine in the ‘Island Nights’ theme! From 22 August – 6 September 2025, the two famed landmarks transform into a vibrant and immersive island-inspired wonderland that celebrates Singapore’s role as a crossroads of cultures.

Visitors are invited to explore whimsical art installations, take part in hands-on workshops, and feast on a bevy of local bites and drinks, and be mesmerised by stunning light projections on CHIJMES’ iconic facade.

Capitol Singapore: Creative Art Installations, Interactive Workshops, Documentary Screenings

Kampong Chill by Yok & Sheryo

Dive into Kampong Chill, one of the two major highlights at this edition of the SNF. A gentle invitation to pause and unwind amidst the rush, this whimsical installation by acclaimed artist duo Yok and Sheryo celebrates the grace of inefficiency, the freedom of daydreaming, and the simple beauty of doing nothing.

Visitors can expect to immerse themselves and stir up feelings of nostalgia in the light-up art installation, themed after our old Kampongs, and capturing the essence of island life. The set-up will play host to a series of soothing workshops and screenings throughout the festival, with a fresh and novel experience waiting for attendees every weekend.

Sunset Cinema Chillers

22 – 23 Aug | 7.30pm – 12am | Capitol Singapore, Outdoor Plaza

Step into a cosy nook and watch Yok & Sheryo’s carefully crafted short film, consisting of dreamy clips of Singapore’s most stunning sunsets and gentle ocean ripples, – a quiet homage to kampong evenings past. With a warm cup of chai masala in hand, let the slow rhythm of golden hour footage transport you to simpler times. It’s part meditation, part time machine, and an entirely magical experience that will leave you soothed and relaxed.

Don’t Lose Ya Head: Indian Head Massage Workshop

29 – 30 Aug  | 7.30pm & 8.45pm | Capitol Singapore, Outdoor Plaza

Feeling the pressure of city life? Kampong Chill offers the perfect escape with a soothing Indian Head Massage Workshop by Barber Muffyn, an expert in barbering and Indian head massages. This ancient technique targets tension in the head, neck and shoulders while melting away stress. With two sessions each night for up to six pairs, you’ll want to grab a friend and let the experts teach you the ancient art of melting stress away, one scalp at a time.

This activity is perfect for anyone looking to refresh the mind, restore calm and boost wellbeing, recharge your energy and find your calm at the festival.

Too Blessed To Be Stressed: Breathing 101 Workshop

5 – 6 Sep | 7.30pm – 12am | Capitol Singapore, Outdoor Plaza

Take a deep breath and step into the slower side of life, for a playful yet powerful reminder that calm is just a few breaths away. In this 40-minute looping animated experience, brought to life in the bold, whimsical style of acclaimed duo Yok & Sheryo, you’ll be gently guided through four grounding techniques: belly breathing, 4-7-8 rhythm, box breathing, and light breathing. This is your space to inhale the chill and exhale the chaos of everyday urban living.

No sign-ups are needed for all 3 activities – just come as you are, immerse yourself in a world of calm and serenity, and let the experience guide you.

CHIJMES: Iconic Light Projection Shows, Alfresco Dining Experiences

Highlighting a series of four enchanting Island Night stories by local female artists Adeline Kueh, HAFI, KangLi, and Tororo.aoi – told through mesmerising light, colour, and space, the mesmerising projection returns on the iconic CHIJMES Hall facade, and is set to transform the Main Lawn into a vibrant, after-dark escape. Running every 15 minutes, this spectacle invites you to wander, watch and capture every magical moment.

Island Bites & Delights by Poczarica

22 – 24 Aug, 28 Aug – 6 Sep | 6pm – 11pm | CHIJMES, Main Lawn

Unwind and indulge at Island Bites & Delights by Poczarica! While soaking in the sights and sounds of festivities, visitors can enjoy a curated array of local craft brews, delicious bites and unique retail finds, in the thick of the festive atmosphere.

With the island-inspired ambience and a vibrant blend of delicious flavors and soothing vibes, it’s the perfect spot to unwind, refresh, and recharge – offering something for everyone to enjoy.
