Students from 534 schools celebrate Malaysia in a nationwide collage competition by Nestle Koko Krunch and the Ministry of Education
KUALA LUMPUR, SEPTEMBER 23,2026 – A familiar landmark, a cherished tradition or the everyday people who make a community feel like home can all become a source of inspiration when seen through a child’s eyes.
This year, 11,208 students from 534 schools across 141 districts transformed those perspectives into colourful works of art through KOKO KRAF CLUB, a nationwide collage competition organised by Nestlé Koko Krunch in partnership with the Ministry of Education Malaysia. After progressing through district and state stages, 15 finalist teams came together at the Grand Finale at NU Sentral, Kuala Lumpur, to share their interpretation of what makes Malaysia special.
Inspired by Visit Malaysia 2026, the competition invited students to explore their surroundings through three connected themes: ‘Beauty of My District’, ‘Beauty of My State’ and, at the national stage, ‘Beauty of Malaysia’. With each round, participants looked more closely at the places, cultures and communities around them, then translated their ideas into collage using colour, texture and imagination.
Among the 15 finalist teams, Aniqkh Hasiff, Afifa Auliaa and Nisaa Izz from Sekolah Kebangsaan Balai Badang emerged as the national champions with a vibrant interpretation of Malaysia, bringing together iconic landmarks, native wildlife, the Rafflesia and traditional elements to celebrate the country’s beauty and cultural richness. The national champions received a cash prize of RM1,500 and certificates, while their school received RM2,000 in recognition of their achievement. Drawing inspiration from Malaysia’s diverse landscapes, cultural heritage and natural wonders, the students brought together their ideas and creativity to tell a story about the many elements that make Malaysia unique.
“What has been most inspiring is seeing how students interpreted Malaysia in their own unique ways. Every collage tells a different story, whether it is about a local landmark, a cultural tradition or the people who make a community special. Children are naturally curious and very creative. KOKO KRAF CLUB is created to give them the space to express their point of view in a creative way. Seeing more than 11,000 students take part this year has been incredibly encouraging. Together with the Ministry of Education Malaysia, we have been able to bring this experience to schools and communities across Malaysia, giving our younger generation an opportunity to share what they can create on a national stage.”– Philip Joe, Business Executive Officer, Nestlé Cereal Partners Worldwide Malaysia and Singapore
Through KOKO KRAF CLUB, Nestlé Koko Krunch encourages children to explore their creativity, imagination and self-expression through hands-on artistic creation, providing a platform for them to share their perspectives and celebrate the communities and cultures that make Malaysia unique. YB Wong Kah Woh, Deputy Minister of Education Malaysia said, “Education is not only about equipping our students with knowledge but also providing them with opportunities to discover their abilities and develop their potential. Platforms such as KOKO KRAF CLUB complement the learning experience by giving students another avenue to explore visual arts and showcase what they can do. It is also encouraging to witness students from schools and districts across Malaysia progress through the competition and represent their communities at the national level. These experiences give our young talents an opportunity to take pride in their work and where they come from.”
Nelly Jimmy from Sekolah Kebangsaan Tangkungon in Telupid, Sabah said, “When two of our teams, from the 15 entries we submitted, qualified to compete in Kuala Lumpur, it was a proud moment for our entire school community. Teachers, parents and the school came together to support the students, helping them prepare and make the journey from Telupid to Kuala Lumpur. It was no small undertaking, but seeing them experience something beyond their usual surroundings made every effort worthwhile. The experience has inspired us to establish a special collage group as we prepare for next year’s KOKO KRAF CLUB.”
More than an art competition, the experience gave young Malaysians a reason to observe their surroundings with fresh eyes and celebrate the stories that shape the places they call home. Through the imagination of 11,208 students, Malaysia was not represented by one single picture, but by thousands of personal perspectives that celebrated the diversity, creativity and pride of a nation.
