CP Foods Reassures Public of Stable Food Supply and Extends Aid Following Earthquake

Prasit Boondoungprasert, chief executive officer of Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited (CP Foods), has confirmed that the company has conducted thorough inspections of all operational sites following the powerful earthquake in Myanmar that affected Thailand on Friday, March 28, 2025. He reassures the public that the incident has not disrupted production activities or operations across Thailand. Furthermore, all business units are prioritizing measures to safeguard employee well-being and mitigate any potential impact in affected areas.

CP Foods extends its deepest sympathies to all those affected. “Our hearts go out to everyone impacted by this devastating earthquake. We stand in solidarity with the affected communities and remain steadfast in our commitment to supporting them during this difficult time,” Prasit stated.

As part of Its humanitarian efforts, CP Foods, in collaboration with the 1st Field Artillery Regiment, King’s Guard, has mobilized resources to aid the ongoing search and rescue mission for survivors of the collapsed building in Jatujak, Bangkok. This includes providing operational tents to support rescue operations at the disaster site. Through its “Food from the Heart” initiative, the company is supplying essential food items, including fresh eggs, chicken, and pork, to mobile relief kitchens operated by organizations such as the Phetkasem Foundation and the Good Deed Organization Foundation.

These efforts ensure the preparation of ready-to-eat meals for the dedicated military personnel, engineering teams, field medical teams, disaster relief agencies, rescue volunteers, charitable organizations, and press members stationed at the Joint Disaster Relief Command Center in Jatujak, Bangkok.

Additionally, CP Foods volunteers are distributing drinking water and ready-to-eat food products, such as steamed eggs, hard-boiled eggs, and herbal eggs, to sustain frontline responders and volunteers actively engaged in relief operations.

Recognizing the critical importance of search-and-rescue operations conducted by K9 dogs—specially trained canines from the Military Animal Department, Police Dog Unit, and USAR Thailand—those are working tirelessly to locate and assist survivors. CP Foods provides them with “Jerhigh” pet food and snacks to ensure they stay healthy.

Helping Them Build Confidence and Entrepreneur Skills

As part of this initiative, women from Rumah Titian Kaseh participated in a specially curated workshop that aligns with Safi’s ongoing efforts to uplift and support women on their journey toward self-sufficiency and empowerment. The workshop was graced by the esteemed presence of Yang Berbahagia Tan Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, Chairman of Malaysia Women and Family Affairs Council (HAWA Malaysia), and her team from HAWA, who engaged with participants, adding a special touch to the event, making it special and meaningful. 

Recognizing that women thrive when given the right opportunities and support, Safi remains dedicated to fostering empowerment. The “Bengkel Keusahawanan & Keyakinan Diri” initiative offers participants the chance to develop valuable skills through two specially designed sessions:

  • Skincare Bouquet Arrangement Workshop: A creative session where participants craft unique bouquets using Safi skincare products, encouraging creativity and entrepreneurial skills. 
  • Skincare & Personal Care Grooming Workshop: A session focused on enhancing personal grooming and boosting confidence, using Safi’s skincare and personal care products.

Trung Nguyên Legend, the Vietnamese business group involved in the production, processing and distribution of coffee, broke ground on the largest coffee processing plant in Southeast Asia at the Tân An 2 Industrial Cluster in Buôn Ma Thuột City in Đắk Lắk Province in the Central Highlands of Vietnam on 10 March 2025.

The Trung Nguyên Legend Energy Coffee Processing Plant, with a total investment of over VND 2,000 billion (nearly VND 1,000 billion in Phase 1), will be equipped with advanced technology from Germany and Italy, and collaborations with leading global technology brands, making it the largest coffee production facility in Southeast Asia.

Of the approximately 530,000 tons of coffee harvested annually from over 200,000 hectares in Dak Lak province, only around 20% is deeply processed, which makes the investment by Trung Nguyên Legend important.
