Unilever Indonesia unveils Royco fish-flavoured seasoning to support “Gemarikan” initiative

Unilever Indonesia has recently unveiled Royco Fish-Flavoured Seasoning made with real fish essence. Suitable for various fish dishes, the seasoning aims to make it easier for consumers to cook and consume fish.

The brand has introduced its latest product as part of its support for the government’s “Gemarikan” (Movement to Encourage Fish Consumption) initiative, aiming to promote fish as a key source of protein.

A common barrier to eating fish is the perception that it is complicated to prepare and tends to smell.

Royco Fish-Flavoured Seasoning, the first of its kind in Indonesia, helps mothers prepare tasty fried, grilled or soupy fish dishes easily and practically. The seasoning is enriched with five high-quality spices, making cooking easier, faster and more efficient. It includes tamarind, which reduces odour while preserving the natural flavour of the fish.

Sugar-free Lipton Soda launches in Malaysia

Sugar-free Lipton Soda has recently launched in Malaysia in PET bottle packaging. Our coverage was delayed as we have yet to spot the product in nearby stores. Lipton Soda appears to be the first carbonated Lipton beverage introduced to the local market.

The introduction of Lipton Soda, though somewhat delayed, is a welcome addition that finally offers local consumers a fizzy tea-based alternative to traditional carbonated soft drinks. The product is already available in a variety of flavours in Thailand.

Etika Powers Community-Led Waste Management in Semporna

Sundaram, Chief Executive Officer of Etika Sdn Bhd; Dr Dayang Siti Maryam Binti Mohd Hanan from the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment Sabah (KePKAS), Mr. Julian Hyde, Chief Executive Officer of Reef Check Malaysia; Ms. Theresa Ng, Chief Operating Officer of Reef Check Malaysia; Tuan Hassan Gabra bin Haji Hajan, representative from Kg Sri Aman and Puan Samsiah Sabdan, Assistant Administrative Officer, Semporna District Office, officiating the launch of the Semporna Waste Management Programme

Working with Reef Check Malaysia, Etika’s Semporna Waste Management Program equips Kg. Sri Aman with practical systems, training, and engagement to reduce waste and set a model for other villages

Kuala Lumpur, 11 November 2025 – Etika Sdn Bhd, in collaboration with Reef Check Malaysia (RCM) and supported by the Malaysian Recycling Alliance (MAREA), has announced the launch of the Semporna Waste Management Program — a pilot initiative to establish a functioning community-based waste management system in Kg Sri Aman, Semporna.

The programme addresses a longstanding issue in Semporna, where poor waste management and plastic pollution have impacted both local communities and marine ecosystems. The Kg Sri Aman Waste Management Project aims to create a structured and sustainable model that can be replicated in other coastal areas.

As part of this programme, Etika will provide end-to-end support — from waste audits and infrastructure setup to community training and engagement — working in partnership with Reef Check Malaysia and supported by MAREA to drive long-term sustainability within the community.

Santharuban Thurai Sundram, Chief Executive Officer of Etika Group of Companies explaining the purpose of the initiative during his welcome speech

Santharuban Thurai Sundram, Chief Executive Officer of Etika Group of Companies, said “Through this collaboration, we aim to support an effective and practical solution to a real community challenge. Sustainability efforts must include the people most affected, and this project provides an opportunity for us to work directly with local stakeholders to create meaningful, long-term impact.”

The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment Sabah (KePKAS) welcomes this programme by Etika as a positive step towards strengthening the State’s sustainable development efforts. “Beyond addressing waste management challenges, it directly supports the preservation of the natural beauty and biodiversity that make Sabah a
world-renowned tourism destination. By equipping the community of Kg Sri Aman with the skills and infrastructure to manage their environment responsibly, we are not only protecting our marine ecosystems but also empowering local residents to take ownership of their surroundings. This partnership lays a strong foundation for future eco-tourism and
conservation-led initiatives across the State.”

By the end of 2028, the project aims for all 99 households in Kg. Sri Aman to be equipped with waste bins, with at least 90% of them actively participating in waste segregation. Over time, the programme targets to divert more than 10,000 kilograms of waste from the environment by 2028.

Adzmin Fatta, Programme Manager of Reef Check Malaysia highlighted the project as a key step in promoting sustainable waste management and community-led solutions “The Kg Sri Aman project highlights the importance of structured waste management policies and community-based implementation. By piloting a practical system at the local level, it provides a model that can inform government strategies, support regulatory frameworks, and guide future programmes in other communities facing similar challenges.”

Beyond environmental benefits, the programme will also create employment opportunities for villagers, who will be engaged as waste collectors and coordinators. Recyclable materials will be sent to an aggregator for recycling, and profits generated will be reinvested into community waste and recycling initiatives.

Engagement with key government stakeholders — including the Semporna District Council (MDS), District Office, and the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment Sabah (KePKAS) — will ensure alignment with local development plans and future scalability to other communities in Sabah.

Together, Etika, Reef Check Malaysia, and MAREA aim to strengthen local waste management capacity while contributing to Malaysia’s broader environmental sustainability goals.

Treats for all as Bask Bear Coffee & Toasties sponsors VM2026

100,000 free Aren drinks for foreign tourists, daily 97-sen coffee for Malaysians

KUALA LUMPUR, 11 November 2025: Bask Bear Coffee & Toasties today announced its support for Visit Malaysia 2026 in a major sponsorship that benefits 100,000 foreign tourists and all Malaysians through a unique plan that promises to shake up the coffee scene.

To signify Malaysian warmth and hospitality, Bask Bear Coffee & Toasties will sponsor RM1.2 million worth of coffee for 100,000 foreign tourists through a “Buy 1-Free 1” offer for its unique Aren series, which uses Aren Sugar, a caramel-tasty, healthier option over brown sugar or even honey.

Not leaving out Malaysians, the home-grown coffee brand has a best-value in the market deal for them. Malaysians can join a Bask Bear Club plan that gives them a free Americano daily for only RM29 per month, equivalent to only 97 sen per cup.

Bask Bear Coffee & Toasties, a proudly Malaysian brand, announced its collaboration with Tourism Malaysia at an event witnessed by Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Dato Sri Tiong King Sing.

Dato’ Sri Tiong King Sing (2nd from right), Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, and Bryan Loo (2nd from left), Founder and CEO of Loob Holding Sdn Bhd, signing the commemorative plaque to officiate the collaboration between Tourism Malaysia and Bask Bear Coffee & Toasties in support of Visit Malaysia 2026.

Founder and CEO of brand owner, Loob Holding Sdn Bhd, Bryan Loo, said Bask Bear Coffee & Toasties was the first Malaysian lifestyle brand to roll out such a large-scale sponsorship for VM2026 that benefits both foreign tourists and Malaysians.

“We want to support Tourism Malaysia’s efforts to attract foreign tourists to visit and enjoy the various attractive destinations. What better way than for overseas visitors to be introduced to our very special Gula Aren series with the ingredients sourced from Borneo? So, they will get one cup free whenever they purchase any Aren Aerocano, Aren Latte or Aren Cocoa.

“At the same time, we wish to reward Malaysians who have been our loyal customers. Today, we are rolling out our unique Bask Bear Club plan, which gives you one free Americano daily for one month at only RM29 per month. Customers can opt for other coffees for RM3.90 and add on toasties for only RM9.90 each day.

In support of domestic tourism, we are giving an introductory offer of another month’s supply of Americano for free, so they get two months instead of one,” Loo said. For these early-bird customers, it would mean they get 60 cups for RM29 or under 49 sen per cup.

To make it easy for foreigners to claim their “B1F1” Aren drinks, they only have to take a screenshot of the Bask Bear banner on the official VM2026 website (https://www.malaysia.travel/) and show their passports at any Bask Bear Coffee & Toasties outlet.

In welcoming the sponsorship by Bask Bear Coffee & Toasties, Tiong called on more Malaysian brands to support the VM2026 campaign as the Ministry hoped for more private sector involvement in tourism promotion.

He hoped that with Bask Bear Coffee & Toasties’ support, the VM2026 campaign targets of 47 million international arrivals and RM329 billion in tourism receipts could be achieved.

Loo said at the retail price of RM6.90 for an Americano, the brand’s sponsorship of up to 30 cups each for every Malaysian during this limited-time offer could potentially chalk up a total sponsorship value of RM207 per person.

He added that it was most appropriate for Bask Bear Coffee & Toasties to collaborate with Tourism Malaysia, as the brand was inspired by the basking Malayan Sun Bear, which coincidentally was also the mascot for VM2026.

The launch today featured both the VM2026 mascots Wira and Manja cavorting with Bask Bear Coffee & Toasties’ Brader BLE mascot in a display of “beary” kinship and shared message of local pride, conservation awareness and national hospitality.

“We want visitors to take home not just memories, but a taste of Malaysia’s warmth and culture. Bask Bear Coffee & Toasties was founded on the belief that Malaysia’s own stories, flavours, and spirit can stand proudly on the world stage.

“This collaboration with Tourism Malaysia reflects our continued commitment to that mission of supporting national tourism, promoting local sourcing, and sharing the warmth of Malaysia’s coffee culture with the world,” said Loo.

Loo added that the initiative complements the Government’s move to boost domestic travel under Budget 2026, which grants Malaysians up to RM1,000 in tax relief for local tourism spending.

Joint initiative through Koko Krunch brand by Nestlé Malaysia and the Ministry of Education to nurture children’s creativity and imagination nationwide

Kuala Lumpur, November 7, 2025 – The spirit of creativity came alive as young Malaysians shared their visions of tomorrow at  Nestlé’s Koko Kraf Club 2025 National Grand Finale, with the inspiring theme “Future For My Country.” A collaboration between Nestlé Malaysia and the Ministry of Education Malaysia, the Koko Kraf Club has grown into a nationwide movement encouraging self-expression and teamwork among primary school children through fun hands-on collage activities.

[Back row, centre from left] CEO of Nestlé Malaysia Juan Aranols, YB Tuan Wong Kah Woh, Deputy Minister of Education, and Tuan Ithnin bin Mahadi, Director of the Sports, Co-Curricular and Arts Division, Ministry of Education, with the 15 finalist teams of the Koko Kraf Club 2025, representing their respective states in the Grand Finale with their creative collages.
Now in its second year, participation in the programme reached new heights with a total of 12,507 students from 149 districts and 925 schools, a significant increase from the 3,633 students who took part in its pilot year in 2024.

This year’s Grand Finale brought together 15 finalist teams representing their respective states grouped into five zones – Central, North, South, East Coast and East Malaysia/Borneo. Emerging as the national champions were Ulya Mardhiyyah Bt Ahmad Mustaffa, Tuan Siti NurFatihah Bt Tuan Azham Zamiri and Hana Uzma Binti Noramin from Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Kompleks Mengabang Telipot, Terengganu. Each team comprised three students aged 10 to 12, creating collages that expressed their hopes for Malaysia’s future. Using bright colours and recyclable materials such as cereal boxes, fabric, yarn and old magazines, the students showcased ideas such as greener communities and futuristic science and technology.

Finalist teams from primary schools across Malaysia competing in the Koko Kraf Club Grand Finale 2025, using bright colours and recyclable materials such as cereal boxes and old magazines to create imaginative collages that expressed their hopes for Malaysia’s future.

YB Tuan Wong Kah Woh, Deputy Minister of Education, commented, “These artistic activities are an important component in the holistic development of students. Through programmes such as this, we are able to nurture students to participate in various art events at different levels, particularly national and international. This is not merely an achievement, but a platform to strengthen our artistic identity and creativity to greater heights. Student participation in the arts, especially in visual arts, not only uncovers talent but also develops abilities and skills that transcend personal boundaries.”

Mr Juan Aranols, Chief Executive Officer of Nestlé Malaysia, said, “Through our programme with Ministry of Education, Nestlé Koko Krunch in addition to providing a nourishing breakfast to children, plays a part in inspiring them and providing an opportunity to express their creativity and imagination through art. Through this collaboration, we are honoured to contribute to the educational development of the next generation of young Malaysians ready to shape a brighter future for their communities.

Mr. Philip Joe, Business Executive Officer of Nestle Breakfast Cereals Malaysia shared about the programme, “The excitement from kids across primary schools in Malaysia has been very encouraging, as we saw triple the participation this year. Big congratulations to the finalists. They made amazing pieces of art, expressing their hopes for the future of Malaysia, which is an inspiration for all of us!”

Crowned national champions of this year’s Koko Kraf Club, Ulya Mardhiyyah Bt Ahmad Mustaffa, Tuan Siti NurFatihah Bt Tuan Azham Zamiri and Hana Uzma Binti Noramin from SK Kompleks Mengabang Telipot, Terengganu, captivated the judges with their imaginative collage that depicted an underwater city while preserving the lush greenery of the Earth. The images of the planet and books symbolised that knowledge holds the key to everything. The team shared, “Joining the Koko Kraf Club was really fun! We wanted our collage to show the Malaysia we dream about. This competition taught us that everyone’s ideas are important, and when we share and listen, we can create something even better.”

The teacher from the winning team’s school, Fazita Binti Mohammad, added, “We’re incredibly proud of our students for their achievements throughout this journey! The Koko Kraf Club competition has been such a meaningful experience for them, from preparing at school to representing their state for the National Grand Finale. It’s wonderful to see the positive values they have learned and how excited they are to share their hopes and dreams for the nation.”

This year’s Koko Kraf Club journey began with district-level submissions, where students competed in two categories, Category A (7–9 years) and Category B (10–12 years). Winners from Category B advanced to the regional competition, involving 80 groups nationwide, before the top 15 teams earned their place at the National Grand Finale. The competition progressed through the themes “Future For Me” at district level, “Future For My Family” at regional level and “Future For My Country” at national level, encouraging children to imagine their personal, family and national aspirations. Across all levels, Koko Kraf Club celebrated creativity and unity among young Malaysians nationwide.

The Grand Finale event also featured an Arts & Craft Area open to the public, where parents, teachers and non-participating children could take part in creative activities such as Perler bead crafting and bracelet making, extending the experience beyond the competition and turning the finale into a day of shared joy.

100PLUS PRO High Protein and Netflix’s ‘Physical: Asia’ team up to inspire everyday athletes ‘Unlock Their 100’ and fuel like a pro

High gear collaboration celebrating strength, endurance, and recovery – with nationwide consumer promotions across Singapore

Singapore, 5 November 2025  –  Building on its commitment to empower active lifestyles and performance recovery, 100PLUS PRO High Protein, Singapore’s number one isotonic drink with added protein and BCAAs, has teamed up with Netflix’s Physical: Asia series – a competition reality show featuring elite athletes from eight countries battling for national pride in grueling tests of strength and endurance – bringing together two champions of performance, endurance, and resilience.

This partnership brings together two champions of endurance and resilience, inspiring everyday athletes and achievers to “Unlock their 100” and rise stronger through peak hydration and recovery.

Hydration Engineered for Peak Performance

The non-carbonated 100PLUS PRO High Protein is formulated to support hydration and promote muscle recovery during and after physical activities. Formulated based on nutritional science, it combines hydration with top-quality functional ingredients that aid muscle recovery and sustained energy, featuring:

  • 10 grams of protein with 2 grams of Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAA) per 500-ml bottle, both derived from Whey Protein Isolate, a high-quality protein source extensively used in sports and health nutrition.
  • Electrolytes, which replenish what the body loses through sweat to maintain hydration balance.
  • BVitamins (B3, B6, and B12), which all contribute to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. In addition, Vitamin B3 helps to release energy from proteins, fats and carbohydrates, while Vitamin B6 is important for the production of energy. Both Vitamin B6 and Vitamin B12 help in the formation of red blood cells.1

Research shows that consuming protein during and after a fitness activity enhances recovery, growth and maintenance of muscle mass2, while BCAAs mitigate muscle damage and aid recovery between exercise sessions.3

According to Healthhub.sg based on the average Singaporean weight, 10 grams of protein is approximately one-fifth of the daily protein requirement typically recommended for adults aged 18 to 49.4

For fitness enthusiasts mindful of their nutritional intake, 100PLUS PRO High Protein is lower in sugar, has a low Glycemic Index (GI), carries the Healthier Choice Symbol from the Health Promotion Board (HPB), and is Halal-certified.

When Hydration Meets Storytelling

100PLUS PRO and Netflix’s Physical: Asia unite in a dynamic collaboration that celebrates the strength of the human spirit – from everyday athletes to elite competitors. As Southeast Asia’s leading isotonic brand, 100PLUS is built on the values of perseverance, endurance, and rising stronger through challenges.

These same qualities are at the core of Physical: Asia, Netflix’s first-ever nation-vs-nation showdown, where eight countries face off in high-stakes tests of strength, strategy, and teamwork. Set in grand, cinematic arenas inspired by Korean and pan-Asian heritage, the series celebrates resilience, passion, and national pride.

Together, 100PLUS PRO and Physical: Asia spotlight individuals who push boundaries and perform under pressure– where hydration meets heart, and recovery powers resilience.

In Singapore, 100PLUS has long been part of the nation’s active lifestyle – from school sports days to national-level competitions. Physical: Asia mirrors that same spirit seen in Singaporeans who show up, push harder, and never back down. With 100PLUS PRO High Protein, the brand continues to support this journey by offering hydration and recovery solutions that meet real needs, whether for marathon training or everyday activity. The partnership with Netflix brings this energy to life, inspiring communities to keep striving and rising stronger.

With stunning visuals, state-of-the-art sound, and dynamic ride technology, Chaos in Wonderland 4D delivers a thrilling adventure that’s fun, unexpected, and unforgettable for the whole family.

4D AdventureLand is home to three other thrilling rides: plunge into spine-tingling excitement on Haunted Mine Ride 4D, score a marksman on 4D interactive shoot-out game Desperados, or feel the rush of a mountainous adventure on Extreme Log Ride. There’s a thrill for every adventurer, no matter what kind of excitement you’re after.

Sentosa 4D AdventureLand ensures fun for the entire family, offering stationary seating for expectant mothers, seniors, or guests with mobility needs, so everyone can share in the excitement together. Chaos in Wonderland 4D requires children to be at least 90 cm tall to be seated alone. Younger children can still experience the adventure safely when seated on a parent’s lap.
