First Pride plant-based range has three new Malaysian flavours

Tyson Foods Inc has localised its plant-based range in Malaysia with the launch of First Pride Malaysian flavours. The company showcased the three new local flavours – Satay Stripes, Spicy Masala Bites and Hainanese Cutlet at the Future FoodTech Festival, Publika Marketplace on 8-9 January 2022.

First Pride plant-based is meat-free, a source of dietary fibre and has no artificial colouring. The ingredients are all made from plants.

Tyson Foods first launched its plant-based range in Malaysia around June 2021.

KFC Malaysia Golden Egg Burger is back

KFC Malaysia is bringing back the Golden Egg Burger to celebrate the golden moments. The limited time offering Golden Egg Burger features one of the most popular sauces – salted egg and Hot & Spicy Zinger fillet.

KFC Golden Egg Burger is available from 5 January 2022 in a la carte, combo, box meal and buddy meal. It is paired with Lipton iced lemon tea.

FamilyMart Malaysia has launched Mala Chicken Onigiri (RM 4.50) and Chicken Floss Melon Pan (RM 3.20) to celebrate the Year of the Tiger 2022. The Roary-Licious New Year menu items also include Waffuru (Custard) and Waffuru (Cream Cheese). The Mala Chicken Onigiri and Chicken Floss Melon Pan are good examples of Chinese-Japanese fusion foods.

Ribena has recently launched a new jelly drink in Malaysia, which was previously introduced in Singapore in 2021. The new jelly drink is described as ‘joy is best squeezed’. PT Aquasolve Sanaria, the company behind Gofress, Herbafress and Ashitaki, has launched two low calorie instant noodles made from shirataki. Ashitaki Shirataki Noodle Mi Goreng Rasa Rendang is a fried noodle with rendang flavour with 100kcal, while Ashitaki Shirataki Noodle Mi Rebus Rasa Kari Ayam is a soup noodle in chicken curry flavour with 50kcal. Both noodle products are ideal for those on a diet.
