WTH Foods launches Umani frozen plant-based foods in the Philippines

WTH Foods, a Philippine-based plant-based meat producer in Metro Manila and Cebu, has launched Umani. Umani is a combination of the Japanese word “umami” (delicious) and the Filipino word “ani” (harvest). The frozen range includes Filipino-inspired sausages, burgers, meatballs, mince, sisig, tapa, tuna, and a seasonal holiday ham.

The ingredients found in the Holiday Ham for example are Water, wheat and soy protein, coconut oil, methylcellulose (emulsifier), spices, hydrolyzed vegetable protein, potato starch, flavor enhancer, brown sugar, flavorings, dietary fiber, iodized salt, natural food color, vitamin b12.

Umani Meat-Free Smoked Sausage:

Water, soy and wheat protein, vegetable oil (coconut and/or palm oil), vital wheat gluten, methylcellulose (emulsifier), spices (black pepper and smoked paprika), hydrolyzed vegetable protein, potato starch (stabilizer), flavorings [vegetable oil(sunflower oil and/or palm oil), nature-identical, natural flavoring, and smoke flavoring], flavor enhancer (mushroom powder and disodium 5′-ribonucleotides), dietary fibers, iodized salt, natural food color, vitamin B12 powder.
