FoodStar taps into the sophisticated soda drink trend with alcohol-free Fruitales

Thailand’s FoodStar Co Ltd, the producer of Deedo fruit juice, is participating in the sparkling mocktail drink category by unveiling its newest Fruitales at THAIFEX – Anuga Asia 2024. The new sugar-free, alcohol-free sparkling mocktail beverage is available in four flavours and is meant for the export market.

  • Rum: Rum, pineapple and coconut flavoured
  • Champagne: Champagne and pomegranate flavoured
  • Soju: Soju, plum and yogurt flavoured
  • Beer: Beer and redberry flavoured

The official description is ‘crafted ready to drink mocktails, vibrant fruit flavour blends with a hint of cocktail spirits without the alcohol. Let’s toast to fun-filled nights and fresh mornings!’

THAIFEX – Anuga Asia 2024, Fruitales joins a host of new drinks that tap into the sober curious trend with sophisticated soft drinks that consumers can use for mixing or standalone consumption.

The company also unveiled Fruitales Mocktail Ice Stick (45ml), which is a non-alcoholic mocktail that consumers can enjoy anytime, anywhere. The ice stick is available in three flavours: Mojito, Strawberry Daiquiri and Blue Kamikaze.

 

Deksomboon Soy Sauce Candy shows there is always more ways to consume your soy sauce

The popular sauce producer in Thailand, Yan Wal Yun Co Ltd or Deksomboon (Healthy Boy), has creatively turned soy sauce into candy. Unveiled at THAIFEX – Anuga Asia 2024, the caramel candy (25g – THB 59) is aimed at young consumers. According to The Nation, the candy “reminds them of the aromas emanating from their parents’ kitchens.” 

The Deksomboon Soy Sauce Candy has a strong caramel taste and is a playful take on soy sauce. As the company expands its use of soy sauce into more areas, it is not unimaginable for Deksomboon, which has previously introduced soy sauce ice cream and soda, to introduce novel ways for consumers to experience soy sauce.

At THAIFEX – Anuga Asia 2024, Deksomboon showcased new products, including Kecap Manis Sauce, an Indonesian-inspired sweet soy sauce in a squeezable bottle. The company also unveiled fish sauce in a squeezable bottle format, Thai Sriracha Mayo in a squeezable pack/bottle, Tamarind Paste in a squeezable bottle and Tamarind Spicy Sauce in a squeezable bottle.

Kecap manis is a staple in Indonesian cooking. The new Deksomboon Kecap Manis Sauce allows the company to expand the brand’s presence in Indonesian cuisines.

Deksomboon’s other new products included vegan-friendly fish sauce, Ketogenic Oyster Sauce sweetened with stevia (0.011%) and Ketogenic Sweet Chili Sauce sweetened with maltitol syrup (50%). Both products carry a prominent, healthier-for-you message of ‘zero sugar’ on the front of the pack.

Indonesia’s Khong Guan will launch Norily Mie in June 2024. The new Norily Mie is a crispy fried noodle snack, but unlike its peers, it contains seaweed sourced from South Korea. It is available in three flavours: Original, Balado (Spicy) and Ayam Bawang (Onion Chicken).

The primary target consumers are children aged seven to 14 from B and C’s socioeconomic status (SES).

Norily Mie debuted at THAIFEX – Anuga Asia 2024 in Bangkok in May 2024.
