Yeo’s Snow Pear Tea is back for the auspicious Year of the Dragon

Yeo Hiap Seng (Yeo’s) has reintroduced its festive limited edition drink, Yeo’s Snow Pear Tea, to celebrate the Year of the Dragon. This beverage is inspired by traditional Asian recipes and delicately brewed with snow pears and Chuan Bei Mu. The drink is available only at FairPrice supermarkets.

Yeo’s has also made limited-edition packs for its Asian drinks available. The beverages come in different auspicious characters and blessings.

From 1 January to 29 February, consumers just spend a minimum of $8 on Yeo’s and/or participating beverages in a single receipt and stand a chance to win Fullerton Hotel Vouchers. There are more than $6,000 worth of vouchers to be given out.

Opens 49th outlet in Plaza Shah Alam, its third in the State capital

SHAH ALAM, Saturday, 13 January 2024 – Jaya Grocer, Malaysia’s leading mass-premium supermarket brand, today heralded the start of yet another successful year with the opening of its 49th store at Plaza Shah Alam here – its third in the State capital after Plaza Jelutong and Ardence Labs.

CEO Adelene Foo said the occasion was a fitting tribute to its customers in Shah Alam who have given overwhelming support to the home-grown brand over the years. “We opened the first store back in 2007 in Selangor and it’s particularly meaningful that, after almost 17 years, we’re opening our 49th store in the Selangor State capital.”

Gracing the launch today was Selangor State Exco Member for Youth, Sports and Entrepreneurship MohdNajwan Halimi who is also the State Assemblyman for Kota Anggerik. Along with invited guests, he was treated to a sterling display of local kompang and gendang by local troupes during the opening ceremony.

In recounting Jaya Grocer’s presence in Shah Alam, Adelene said the first outlet in the city at Plaza Jelutong was open on 29 September 2012 and quickly created a reputation for high-quality products and exceptional customer service. City folks also thronged its second outlet at Ardence Labs leading the brand to add Plaza Shah Alam to its network.

“With three outlets in Shah Alam, our customers will find shopping with us much more convenient than ever,” she said.

With this auspicious start to the new year, she said Jaya Grocer’s network expansion plans are on track and she looked forward to a better year in 2024.

“We expect this year to be better in tandem with the higher economic growth forecast by most research houses,” she said, adding that Rating Agency of Malaysia (RAM) has projected Malaysia’s 2024 gross domestic product (GDP) to grow by 4.5 to 5.5%, up from the estimated growth rate of 4.0% in 2023.

“With our three outlets in this city strategically positioned, our customers in Shah Alam can enjoy even greater accessibility to our premium range of products, reinforcing our commitment to serving the community more efficiently,” she added.

To reward customers in Shah Alam, Jaya Grocer is offering promotion deals from January 13th to January 21st that includes special discounts on a variety of essential items such as vegetables, poultry, and meat, as well as enticing offers on imported snacks and cat food.

Soon after the opening ceremony, Jaya Grocer hosted a cooking demonstration by well-known TV host and celebrity chef Fikree Aznan, who wowed the audience with his impressive culinary skills. Indonesia’s KFS Food has turned to Himalayan salt to improve the health credentials of its Taro Tempe chips. Instead of regular salt, KFS Food uses Himalayan salt to offer consumers a gluten-free tempe snack with the health halo of salt sourced from the Himalayan mountain.

We have seen Malaysia-based snack food producer Mamee doing the same with its Mister Potato Original potato chips in Malaysia, now featuring Himalayan salt.

lululemon launches Lunar New Year campaign “Be Spring” featuring Academy Award-winning actress Michelle Yeoh and the theatrical dance “Wing Chun

Celebrate the Year of the Dragon with a limited-edition capsule collection

KUALA LUMPUR, 12 January 2024 – lululemon today announced that it has partnered with Academy Award-winning actress Michelle Yeoh and eight theatrical dancers of “Wing Chun” to present the short film “Be Spring”. Debuting in time to welcome the Year of the Dragon, this film is a celebration of the arrival of spring, a season signifying rebirth and new beginnings. Through a poetic enactment of the meeting of mind and body, the film explores the concept of wellbeing, inviting us to find eternal spring in our everyday lives.

Born in the East and raised in the West, Oscar-winning actress Michelle Yeoh embodies the cultural confluence of East and West. Her years of training in both dance and martial arts have formed the foundation for her decorated acting career. On being well, Yeoh recommends taking time to listen and understand oneself – our mind, body and spirit – as keys to achieving balance and finding inner peace in one’s life.

“I’m delighted to be partnering with lululemon. Sports have always been an important element of my life, and I am committed to encouraging more people, especially younger generations, to benefit from sports and find balance in their own lives,” said Michelle Yeoh. “Wing Chun holds a special place in my heart.
