Pos Malaysia Launches Redly and World Post Day 2025 Celebration

Launch of Redly Pos Malaysia International (L-R) Tan Sri Syed Faisal Albar, Chairman of Pos Malaysia, Tuan Abdul Karim Fakir Ali, Managing Director of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), Dato’ Seri Mohamad Fauzi bin Md Isa Secretary-General, Ministry of Communications, YB Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, Minister of Communications, and Sid Hart, CEO of Redly Pos Malaysia International.

#PostForPeople: Local Service. Global Reach.

Shah Alam, 9 October 2025 — As the world comes together to mark World Post Day 2025, Pos Malaysia Berhad (“Pos Malaysia”), the national post and parcel service provider, proudly joins millions across the globe in honouring the essential role of postal services – a role that continues to evolve while remaining deeply rooted in connecting people, businesses and communities.

The World Post Day event held at Pusat Mel Nasional in Shah Alam marked a dual celebration – the official launch of Redly Pos Malaysia International (“Redly”), the international logistics and e-commerce solutions arm of Pos Malaysia, and the unveiling of the World Post Day 2025 special stamps. This year’s theme, “#Post for People: Local Services, Global Reach” pays tribute to the evolving role of postal services in connecting communities in a digital age.

The event was officiated by YB Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, Minister of Communications, alongside senior officials from the Ministry of Communications, Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), board members, and members of the media. During the ceremony, the Minister also presented appreciation certificates to four outstanding Pos Malaysia employees, recognising their dedication and exceptional contributions. The event concluded with a guided tour of the Pusat Mel Nasional facility, giving guests an up-close look at the operations behind international inbound and outbound mail, as well as the manual and automated sorting systems that keep the postal service running smoothly.

Tan Sri Syed Faisal Albar, Chairman of Pos Malaysia said, “This year’s theme for World Post Day perfectly captures what we at Pos Malaysia strive for every day – whether delivering letters in the kampung, parcels in the city, or enabling cross-border e-commerce, our mission has always been to serve the rakyat while remaining an integral part of the global postal network.

“The launch of Redly, the testing of new business models, and our ongoing digitalisation and sustainability efforts all share one purpose: that is to ensure Pos Malaysia continues to fulfill our Amanah and serve the evolving needs of a modern Malaysia… faithfully, sustainably, and innovatively, for generations to come”, he added.

Our Transformation Journey

Pos Malaysia’s transformation first began in August 2021, in response to major shifts in customer behaviour, technology, and the business environment. The company has since undergone bold reforms to strengthen its core services, optimise operations, improve customer experience, and embrace innovation. These efforts have delivered significant results:

  • Next-day parcel delivery performance improved from 50% to over 90%, exceeding the industry average of 82%.
  • Mail delivery performance now exceeds 93% on time delivery.
  • Pos Malaysia remains the only logistics provider operating two dedicated aircraft to Sabah and Sarawak, ensuring the fastest transit and earliest delivery in the market.
  • Customer satisfaction has risen sharply, with Net Promoter Scores (NPS) increasing from 32.0 to 97.0 for retail services and 56.7 to 76.9 for delivery services — a clear indicator of the impact of the transformation.

Leading with Sustainability

In line with its commitment to a greener, more responsible future, Pos Malaysia has implemented sustainable logistics and energy-efficient approaches to its operations. Today, we operate Malaysia’s largest electric vehicle logistics fleet with more than 1,250 e-bikes and 264 e-vans, covering over 10.8 million kilometres emission-free. 17 facilities across the country are now powered by solar energy, contributing to nearly 7.5% of the company’s total energy mix, and helping prevent over 2,900 tonnes of carbon emissions annually.

Redly: From Anywhere to Everywhere

Today also marks the official launch of Redly – Pos Malaysia’s new unified international identity. For years, international postal and courier services were offered under different names. Redly consolidates these offerings under one strong, clear brand with the promise, ‘From anywhere to everywhere’. This unified brand positions Pos Malaysia to better serve the global e-commerce and cross-border logistics market, while honouring the spirit of World Post Day’s theme.

World Post Day Special Stamp Series

Pos Malaysia Berhad also commemorates World Post Day 2025 with a special stamp collection that celebrates the vital role of postal services, highlighting the post as a human-centred service that bridges communities, from bustling cities to remote villages in a world that’s increasingly digital. Featuring a RM1.30 stamp, a RM5.00 miniature sheet, a first day cover with stamp (RM1.80), a first day cover with miniature sheet (RM5.50) and a collector’s folder (RM6.00), the folder set priced at RM44.30 will be available from 9 October 2025 at 90 Philatelic Bureaus, 13 General Post Offices nationwide, and online at shop.pos.com.my, while stocks last.

Facing the Realities: Challenges in a Rapidly Changing Market

Despite the progress made, Pos Malaysia — like many national postal services — is facing several structural challenges that continue to impact operations and long-term sustainability:

  • Sharp Decline in Mail Volume – Traditional mail volumes have fallen by 79% since 2012, from more than 1.3 billion to 300 million items annually. However, the number of delivery points under the Universal Service Obligation (USO) continues to grow, increasing the cost of service despite shrinking revenue.
  • Lower Footfall at Post Offices – Visits to Pos Malaysia’s 1,000+ retail touchpoints have dropped by 38% since 2018, especially post-pandemic. This has impacted retail revenue while fixed operating costs remain high.
  • Intense Competition in the Parcel Market – Although Malaysia’s parcel market is growing by 12% annually, the sector is saturated with over 100 licensed operators. Platform insourcing, unfair practices like masking, and predatory pricing from foreign players continue to threaten fair competition and financial sustainability.

Looking Ahead: New Business Models

To navigate these challenges and build for the future, Pos Malaysia is rolling out new business models Proof of Concepts (POCs) in Q4 2025. These POCs cover:

  • Network Optimisation – integrating mail and parcel networks into a single, efficient delivery system to enhance resource use, reduce costs and emissions, and boost capacity.
  • Mail Delivery – testing alternate day mail delivery in Sungai Siput, Perak to align with declining mail volumes, reduce costs and emissions, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Retail Network – testing a retail agent network model by replacing 8 post offices with 13 agent-run PUDO points across Perak, Selangor, and Kuala Lumpur to reduce costs, expand reach, and enhance customer convenience.

At the same time, Pos Malaysia is working closely with the MADANI Government, MCMC, and the Ministry of Communications to modernise the Postal Services Act, update the Universal Service Obligation (USO) and implement stronger governance in the parcel delivery industry. The engagement with the Malaysia Competition Commission (MyCC) is also ongoing to address anti-competitive practices, particularly masking, and to ensure consumers retain their right to choose service providers freely.

“This is more than a network upgrade; it’s a game-changer. With 5G Advanced, Malaysians can enjoy broader and deeper 5G coverage nationwide and a high-performance wireless network the country has not seen before. YTL Communications becomes the 9th operator globally to launch 5G Advanced — made possible by the advanced capabilities of DNB’s 5G network. Built on Ericsson technology, the network is continuously enhanced through software updates to ensure it remains the most intelligent and high-performing 5G network in the world.”

Nature in Exile 2.0 – a compelling and evocative solo exhibition by French digital artist Francois Bancon

“In a dystopian future, we risk seeing a generation that will only know trees, leaves, and flowers as artefacts in enclosed spaces.”

Petaling Jaya, 10 October 2025 – Francois BANCON’s first solo exhibition in Malaysia is a stark reminder that mankind’s encroachment on nature heralds the end of beauty and truth.  Aptly titled Nature in Exile 2.0, the work is an allegory of nature that is both visually captivating and thought-provoking.

A French digital artist who has relocated to Malaysia, Bancon does not call himself a photographer in the conventional sense but instead uses photography to create digital works of art that are conceptual in nature.  His images transcend reality into an unexpected brew of thoughts and emotions, designed to steer the audience from the comfortable domains of what is conventionally beautiful to a space for self-question, doubt and ultimately our own truth.

“To be an artist is not that easy, it is always to question the world and the societies, it compels one to love beauty in the world, both natural and human.  This is what I’ve tried to do here with this Nature in Exile 2.0 series, through the theme of nature and its existential threat by mankind.

“Beauty remains the shortest path to truth, this was what the ancient Greek philosophers thought,” continues Bancon.  “The idea for this series Nature in Exile 2.0 came quite naturally as I was working on an earlier series entitled “Fragmented Souls” that dealt with the issue of migration and displacement.  Having interviewed and engaged with the migrant community, I felt the underlying sense of loss, nostalgia and longing for the motherland … the home that no longer is …  but when you think about it in terms of how mankind has encroached on our environment, in the name of progress, we have become the conqueror with nature being banished to be the background prop for our daily modern lives … hence the title “Nature in Exile 2.0”.

“Essentially, climate change and migration are two fundamental issues faced by our generation today, ones that will test our humanity as a whole.  These images are my artistic evocations in response to these twin crises, and I hope that the audience can connect in their own ways with these artworks.”

The underlying theme in Bancon’s work is nature and humans – juxtaposed and in conflict.   The images are powerful as they evoke humility, longing and ultimately, HOPE, albeit tinged with irony.  Oftentimes, there is truth and beauty in decay, as it allows for regrowth and regeneration.

According to the show’s Head Curator, Cyril Pereira, “François Bancon’s images tie the human presence to nature’s wreckage. They survey permanent loss. His compositions juxtapose cause and effect to provoke sober reflection. Is this an exhibition of photography? Is this digital manipulation art? Bancon offers his work as social commentary to make us rethink our priorities. He reminds us that we are racing into a future where flowers, trees, and birds may exist only in picture books.”

Having lived in Asia for over 20 years (Tokyo, Hong Kong & Shanghai), Bancon is no stranger to Malaysia and currently calls Kuala Lumpur home.  “I love the multiculturalism that defines Malaysia, something evident when you go to your local mamak café for a teh tarik,” he muses.

“I studied Art History, Philosophy and Science in France. It was a long time ago, but I’m still studying,” says Bancon with a wry smile.  It is this rather unusual profile that has led Bancon to carve out a successful career in the automotive sector with Renault-Nissan. His creative inclinations were best leveraged as the brand’s chief futurist, where Bancon led the Nissan Exploratory team to design and develop the exciting concept cars previewed at major auto shows globally.

“I’ve been making images for as long as I can remember, first drawing and painting, then photography and digital images, and I’ve never stopped, even when I was working in the automotive sector.  I’ve had several exhibitions and books published in France, Japan, China, the USA and now here in KL.”

“I generally produce a series of images, each exploring a particular theme. This current exhibition focuses on Nature and its suffering.   I’ve also worked on themes relating to Time, Identity, the prevalence of social media, and others.  I’ve completed more than 40 art series, each comprising 50 to more than 100 images, generally in large format.  In the creation of these artworks, I am constantly questioning the idea of “Images”.

“Whilst I photograph every single image you see in my artworks, I prefer to define myself as a contemporary artist rather than a photographer.  I simply use photography to make digital images.  I am definitely not a photographer in the conventional sense, but my artwork aims to move photography into a more creative and disruptive area, allowing me to explore universal and sometimes abstract themes, which I think is what Art is all about – the capacity to make the audience not only “Feel” but “Think”.

“The question is not simply “What is photography?” Perhaps the question should be “What is an Image? What does it tell us?”

“Some art and photography thinkers say that an Image is Art when it succeeds “to look at us” rather than us looking at the image. Today, we are besieged by too many images everywhere, which have become meaningless, lacking in ideas and substance. These images are to be consumed with a distracted eye, images upon images that are to the Art of Images what fast food is to the culinary arts by comparison.

“What distinguishes the Art of Images (photography, painting, sculpture, or video) from your everyday images is that it forces us to think, to reflect, to understand. In this respect, it is identical to literature. To produce a good photograph is not just about shooting a beautiful subject,” Bancon concludes emphatically.

If this piques your interest, why not drop by the exhibition to decide for yourself?  Nature in Exile 2.0 opens on 12th October 2025 and will continue to 16 November 2025 at the Centre of Photographic Arts, located at Kokopelli Templar, 87 Jalan Templer, Petaling Jaya, Selangor. Contact: +6013 507 8087.
