Pos Malaysia Launches 100th Anniversary of Rubber Research in Malaysia Commemorative Stamp Collection

Pos Malaysia Berhad (“Pos Malaysia”), the national post and parcel service provider, officially launched a commemorative stamp collection yesterday celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Rubber Research in Malaysia, marking a century of excellence and innovation in the Malaysian rubber industry.

The year 2025 marks one hundred years since the establishment of the Rubber Research Institute in 1925, now known as the Malaysian Rubber Board (MRB). Over the past century, the MRB has successfully transformed the rubber industry from a basic farming sector into a global industry, driving key innovations including Standard Malaysian Rubber (SMR), high-yielding clones, and products like Ekoprena® and Pureprena®. Malaysia now leads globally in standard setting through international ASTM and ISO standards, alongside a strong commitment to sustainability via the MSNR scheme.

In conjunction with the Celebration of 100 Years of Rubber Research in Malaysia, a special stamp signing session was held with the Director General of the Malaysian Rubber Board (LGM), Dato’ Dr Zairossani Mohd Nor, at the exhibition site, offering collectors and enthusiasts a unique opportunity to commemorate this historic milestone. 

The commemorative stamp collection features a special rubber-effect print on the miniature sheet stamp paper, made from tactile oil which delivers a distinctive rubber-like texture, paying tribute to Malaysia’s pioneering role in rubber research and development.

The 100th Anniversary of Rubber Research in Malaysia collection is available as a folder set priced at RM45.60, which includes:

Kickstart The New Year Festivities With The Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2026

A highlight of the festivities is the Brightening Lives light projection show, an annual celebration of inclusiveness and community via exceptional artworks illuminating the façade of The Fullerton Hotel Singapore. The projections will feature artworks by artists with disabilities from ART:DIS, depicting their vision of a thriving Singapore. Also adorning the skyline this year is a light projection showcase set against UOB Plaza 1, which will feature highlights from the best picks from UOB’s Painting of the Year ASEAN Collection.

Visitors at the Bay can catch performances by local artistes at Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay as a part of Come Together @ Esplanade and immerse themselves in the year end celebrations filled with an array of eat and play experiences at Togetherland by World Christmas Market, located at the Bayfront Event Space.

To crown the celebrations, there will be a countdown fireworks display on New Year’s Eve that will illuminate the Marina Bay skyline, joining in the symphony of shared festivities islandwide.

A Spectacle of Skyline Art and Light Showcase

Brightening Lives returns with its signature light projection themed Thriving Beyond Limits. This year’s theme celebrates the many ways strength shines and the unique journeys we each take to thrive. The theme is not defined by traditional ideas of ability, but rather by the act of self-expression, adaptation, and community support.

Presented in collaboration with community partner and local philanthropic organisation, The Majurity Trust, the projections will feature a captivating series of original artworks by artists with disabilities from ART:DIS, a local non-profit dedicated to providing learning and livelihood opportunities through art.

From 26 to 31 December 2025, the façade of The Fullerton Hotel Singapore will be transformed into a dazzling canvas of creativity, showcasing three commissioned artworks, in addition to five adapted artworks. As a final hurrah to the SG60 celebrations, three artworks showcased during the NDP 2025 celebrations will be a part of this display. This projection show will take viewers on a vibrant journey through Singapore’s past, present and future, celebrating the nation’s culture, community and unity.

Running from 8pm to 10:30pm nightly, the projections will illuminate the hotel’s iconic facade, bringing the wonderful ideas and designs to vivid life.

‘Future Takes Flight’ by Koh Jun Kai is the final artwork of the commissioned series, a piece that envisions a harmonious future where people, nature and technology coexist. Through a lively reimagining of Singapore’s familiar sights into his playful and abstract style, Jun Kai paints a picture of a forward-looking city that is alive with innovation, creativity, and common purpose.

Alongside the three commissioned pieces are five adapted artworks by other talented ART:DIS artists presenting visuals that complement the commissioned pieces in the telling of the Singapore story. These works explore themes like resilience, respect, openness, unity, creativity and growth, expressed through vibrant florals, symbols of everyday life, the words we exchange, and the people we have weathered storms with. Among these works are three designs adapted from this year’s SG60 National Day Parade fun packs that will be brought to life in a new dynamic and animated form as part of the illuminated tableau set against the historical building.

Joining Brightening Lives and The Fullerton Hotel Singapore in this celebration is a light projection showcase themed Sharing Joy, Celebrating with our Communities, presented by UOB. As part of UOB’s commitment to the arts and the community, the façade of UOB Plaza 1 will transform into a beautiful canvas featuring works by ASEAN artists from 18 to 31 December 2025. The show, which runs nightly from 8pm, comprises two segments with different themes and artworks: A Festive show from 18 to 25 December 2025 with works that celebrate the spirit of giving, and a Countdown show from 26 to 31 December 2025 that invites the audience to aspire towards a future where Singapore continues to thrive.

Beyond these dazzling light projections on The Fullerton Hotel Singapore and UOB Plaza 1, the Marina Bay precinct will be abuzz with an exciting line-up of activities and performances for visitors from both at home and around the world.

Togetherland by World Christmas Market Returns – A Bigger, Brighter Celebration

Visitors can look forward to an array of fun and food at Togetherland by World Christmas Market. Designed around the theme of ‘A Christmas Constellation’, the event will run from 11 December 2025 to 4 January 2026 at its new home, the Bayfront Event Space, which spans 20,000 square metres, and is double the size of its previous venue at The Promontory. The festival promises to be a centrepiece of the year-end celebrations at the Bay, featuring immersive attractions designed to bring communities together through creativity and sustainability.

Local Artistes Take Spotlight at the Esplanade this December

In December, Esplanade continues to give local artistes a platform to showcase their talents in Come Together, the popular series of free performances at the Esplanade Concourse and at the DBS Foundation Outdoor Theatre at Esplanade. Music lovers can expect to see crowd favourites and up-and-coming artistes like Hey Pelican!, Amni Musfirah and Heema Izzati.

Experience a Symphony of Light and Music through the Countdown Fireworks

The celebrations will culminate in a dazzling display of fireworks that will light up the Marina Bay night sky to usher in 2026. Designed as a 360° experience around Marina Bay, this year’s fireworks display, titled ELYSIUM, is part of a specially curated hour-long musical score, where the spectacle unfolds as a cinematic fireworks musical across four segments, with a total fireworks display duration of 30 minutes. Starting at 11pm on New Year’s Eve, ELYSIUM will transform the skyline into a living canvas of colour, rhythm and wonder.

Delivering Safe and Enjoyable Experiences for All

For public safety and to facilitate crowd management, the number of people entering and leaving key areas around the Bay and its surrounding districts will be regulated on New Year’s Eve. These areas will be closed when their capacity limits are reached. Cycling will not be allowed at key areas around the Bay due to the high density of pedestrians. The open space carpark located beside the Bayfront Event Space will be closed to the public.

Members of the public are advised to take public transport to Marina Bay. If necessary, certain exits of MRT stations in the Marina Bay area will be closed, and visitors will be diverted to other areas. Visitors should also expect longer waiting times when getting to the various transport nodes during arrival and dispersal due to the large crowds. Visitors are urged to follow crowd management and safety measures as well as instructions from security personnel on the ground, to help ensure a safe and enjoyable New Year’s countdown experience for everyone.

The public can refer to the Crowd@MarinaBay map for timely updates on the crowd situation on New Year’s Eve and plan their routes and activities accordingly.

Christmas Wonderland 2025 officially opens with new enthralling attractions across an expanded fairground

SINGAPORE, 29 November 2025 – The 12th and largest edition of Christmas Wonderland, Singapore’s biggest yuletide fair officially opens today. The iconic Spalliera lit up the fairgrounds at Gardens by the Bay this evening and kicked the year-end festivities up a notch with a dazzling display of lights, brand-new attractions, and heartwarming community initiatives.

Christmas Wonderland was officially launched by Minister for Health and Coordinating Minister for Social Policies, Mr Ong Ye Kung, at the iconic Spalliera, marking the start of a month-long celebration that continues to bring joy to Singapore residents and visitors alike.

For the first time, visitors can take a photo with Santa at his charming stable at Reindeer Town.

Presented by Trip.com and organised by Blue Sky Events, this year’s expanded edition promises over 140 hours of entertainment and 40 attractions that spans a 30,000-square-metre fairground. The festival runs from 29 November 2025 to 1 January 2026.

KUALA LUMPUR, 5 DECEMBER 2025 – The roar of Malaysia’s Manchester United fans reached new heights as Tiger Beer Malaysia brought supporters together for the Roar United finale, where ten finalist pairings went head-to-head in the ultimate Red Devils showdown for the honour of delivering the Roar United Archive to the Manchester United Museum at Old Trafford, where it will be showcased. 

Built from close to 500 passionate submissions, the Roar United Archive is the first and only collection of stories capturing the voices of Malaysia’s Red Devils. Unveiled for the very first time at the event, it will soon embark on a 6,000-mile journey to its rightful place in the Theatre of Dreams – carried personally by the winners. 

Finalists and supporters arrived in full Red Devils spirit, kicking off an exciting evening at the Tiger Beer Roar United Finale Showdown to crown the fans who will deliver the Roar United Archive all the way to Old Trafford, placing Malaysia’s ROAR within the Manchester United Museum.

The night celebrated not just football, but the powerful bond that connects fans across generations. Each finalist shared how their love for the club was sparked by family or close friends, with moments spent cheering together at home and celebrating victories. These heartfelt narratives of family traditions, lifelong friendships, and shared match-day memories earned them a coveted spot in the top ten finalist pairings, reflecting the enduring loyalty of Red Devils fans in Malaysia. 

As the trivia rounds intensified, the atmosphere surged with excitement. The crowd at the viewing zone cheered alongside the finalists as they tackled questions about legendary players, historic victories, and iconic moments that shaped Manchester United’s legacy – turning the showdown into a truly immersive celebration of Malaysia’s Red Devils fandom. In the end, Bon Lee Ngee and Loh Shao Wei emerged as Malaysia’s Roar United winners, earning the honour of delivering the Roar United Archive to the Manchester United Museum.
