Mamasuka launches packaged topokki to ride K-Food trend

Mamasuka is riding the Korean topokki trend with a new locally-produced Korean Rice Cake Topokki. Korean street food topokki is on-trend in Indonesia with many entrants into the market. The key issue with topokki, especially with the imported ones, is the lack of halal certification.

Miwon Group (Mamasuka) by South Korea’s Daesang Corporation ensures its topokki has both the halal certification and the Korean quality assurances.

Mamasuka has also made available Japchae in packaged format. Japchae is a savory and slightly sweet dish of stir-fried glass noodles and vegetables.

For those who want the sauce only, Mamasuka has a new range of topokki sauces under Delisaos.

OKKY Jelly Shake Sweet Lemon Lime debuts in a PET bottle

OKKY Jelly Shake Sweet Lemon Lime, which offers a jelly texture, has been launched in Indonesia. The 320ml drink in a PET bottle needs to be shaken before being consumed. Beverage brands including OKKY are leveraging on texture to elevate the drinking experience.

OKKY Jelly Drink is the first ready-to-drink jelly drink in a cup in Indonesia, which was released in 2003.

URC has launched C2 Plus Immuno-C to make its flagship RTD tea brand C2 more relevant to consumers in the Philippines.

The drink comes in two variants – Orange Flavored Juice Tea Drink and Calamansi Flavored Juice Tea Drink, combining the power of Vitamin C and Zinc to strengthen the body immune defense.

2020 was a poor year for the RTD tea category in the Philippines as out-of-home has been badly impacted by social distancing and the lockdown. Shifting some of the consumption towards in-home with larger volume, adding more functional benefits, e-commerce and direct-to-consumer are some of the strategies employed by RTD tea producers regionally to mitigate the slowdown in demand.

URC has earlier added caramel flavour to its C2 milk tea line.

 

Vinamik Green Farm UHT milk launched

The Vietnamese dairy major Vinamilk has introduced a new UHT milk product that bridges the gap between organic and normal UHT milk. Known as Vinamilk Green Farm, this UHT milk is a high grade fresh milk from the state-of-the-art Vinamilk Green Farm Eco Farms in Vietnam.

The Green Farms are located in Tay Ninh (South), Quang Ngai (Central) and Thanh Hoa (North).

Vinamilk Green Farm is priced slightly higher than ordinary UHT milk but still affordable compared to organic. For example, Vinamilk Green Farm (180ml x 48) is priced at VND 388,080, while Vinamilk 100% Organic Milk (180ml x 48) is retailed at VND 509,520 and Vinamilk UHT Milk (180ml x 48) is VND 377,388 (promotion price VND 347,197).

Indonesia’s PT Ajinomoto has unveiled its latest spicy enhancer seasoning under the Piliplus banner. Piliplus is designed for the foodservice industry to help reduce the amount of fresh chilies used by 30%. The price of fresh chilies fluctuates, thus making cost control difficult.

With Piliplus, the uncertainties with fresh chilli price can be controlled. Piliplus is made from, among others, sugar, salt, bombay onions, white onions, red onions and taste enhancer.
