Kim’s Duet, a Singaporean brand by Kim Guan Guan, unveiled Singapore’s first-ever Decaf Kopi-O Kosong at FHA-Food & Beverage 2024. The innovation is made from 100% natural ground coffee, packed in high-quality filter bag from Japan, and free from artificial flavouring or colouring. 

The brand is stretching the Kopi-O category into the decaf territory to make Kopi-O suitable for consumers who want the decaffeinated option.

Hooray! Protein Shake in new banana flavour

The Hooray! brand has introduced Hooray! Protein Shake in Banana flavour. This high protein drink offers 31g of protein and is free from added sucrose. This lactose-free drink complements the existing range in strawberry, chocolate and original flavours.

Sheng Sheng F&B Industries Pte Ltd, known for its successful house brands – Ice Cool & Golden Light, showcased its latest Vitami and Vitabee drinks at FHA-Food & Beverage 2024.

Vitabee is a sparkling honey soda in sparkling honey and sparkling honey lemon. Vitami is a sparkling fruit soda infused with 1000mg of Vitamin C. Vitami comes in three flavors – lemon & lemongrass, mixed berries, and orange & peach. Vitami is lower in sugar and is certified as a Healthier Choice.

Vitabee has 4.9g of total sugar per 100 ml and is sweetened with sugar, honey, acesulfame potassium and sucralose. 

Similarly, Vitami has 4.9g of total sugar per 100ml and is sweetened with sugar, acesulfame potassium and sucralose.

Both drinks are available for puchase on RedMart.

My Bizcuit Speculass Wafer made its debut at FHA Food & Beverage

Koon Brother Sdn Bhd (My Bizcuit) has unveiled its latest My Bizcuit Speculass Wafer at FHA Food & Beverage in Singapore. The company is known for its My Bizcuit Nu Wafer and digestive biscuits.

The new Speculass Wafer is a new take on Speculaas, which, according to Wikipedia, is a type of spiced shortcrust biscuit baked with speculaas spices originated from the County of Flanders territory.

The Speculass Wafer can inspire other regional wafer brands to include Speculass in their new offering.

Subway operator in Thailand aims to open 500 stores

GFA Corporation (thailand) Ltd, which holds a 70% stake in Go Luck Co, plans to open 500 Subway outlets in Thailand in 10 years both in Bangkok and in surrounding areas. There are currently 148 Subway outlets in the country targeting teenagers, working adults and families. Go Luck received the franchise licence to operate Subway restaurants in Thailand from 1 April 2024.

Subway has been in Thailand for 21 years. To make Subway appealing to consumers, Go Luck will focus on value, simplifying the ordering process and localising the taste. The company will introduce for the first time a drive-thru store in a PTG Energy petrol station in Nakhon Chai Si District. GFA Corporation is a member of PTG Energy.

Pumpui takes the healthy route with a lower sugar, lower sodium fried mackerels in chili sauce

Pumpui (a.k.a. Smiling Fish) has unveiled its latest Fried Mackerels in Chili Sauce with less sugar and sodium formula. The newest product, 36% less sugar, and 29% less sodium formulation aligns with consumer interest in a healthier lifestyle. The company will make available the new better-for-you canned fried mackerels (185g) from 25 April 2024 through convenience stores, supermarkets, and hypermarkets in Thailand.

70% of Gen Zs Require Smooth Delivery To Check-out Online 

KUALA LUMPUR, 22 April 2024 – Shopee’s ‘The Future of Shopping: Engaging Generation Z Shoppers in the Digital Era’ market study in collaboration with Kantar found that 70% of Malaysian Gen Z’s will shop online if they are confident of a smooth delivery experience. Survey respondents prioritised in particular free shipping with no minimum spend and next day delivery whenever hitting the checkout button.

In fact, two thirds of Gen Z’s surveyed base their confidence on Shopee’s established fulfilment practices. They review the platform’s flexible shipping options, on-time delivery guarantee, customer testimonials about delivery in good condition, and use real-time order tracking consistently to have peace of mind. The study also found that 70% of Malaysian Gen Z’s are more likely to hop over from social media platforms to e-commerce sites like Shopee to complete their shopping purchases.

In response to these evolving shopping behaviours, Shopee is introducing the On-Time Guarantee program commencing on 6 May. By implementing the On-Time Guarantee, Shopee is directly addressing a key consumer’s preference for timely delivery, ultimately strengthening buyer confidence and driving repeat business on the platform.
