Ministop convenience store in the Philippines to rename to Uncle John’s

The Ministop convenience store in the Philippines now fully owned by Robinsons Retail Holdings in 2022 will be rebranded as Uncle John’s. The choice of Uncle John’s reflects the strong brand equity the name Uncle John’s has among Filipinos. The name Uncle John’s has been around for 20 years and the Uncle John’s Fried Chicken is a popular item at Ministop. Moreover, the name is a celebration of the legacy of the company’s late founder, Mr. John Gokongwei, Jr.

As of Q2, 2022, Robinsons Retail Holdings operated 443 convenience stores in the Philippines with net sales up 16.5% year-on-year during 1H, 2022 compared to 1H, 2021.
