First mass-premium supermarket in this city, its second in Negri Sembilan

SEREMBAN: – Jaya Grocer opened its 50th outlet at the Seremban Prima Mall here on Jan 31, making it the first such mass-premium supermarket in the State capital and its second in Negri Sembilan.

The leading mass-premium supermarket brand kicked off the year with bullish projections for its network expansion in 2024 on the back of stronger economic growth as forecast by many analysts and research houses.

This 50th outlet was opened barely three weeks after Plaza Shah Alam in Selangor on Jan 13.

Merdeka 118 Tower Inauguration: A Historic Milestone, Public Access Anticipated in Late 2024

KUALA LUMPUR, 26 January 2024: PNB Merdeka Ventures Sdn. Masjid Al-Sultan Abdullah has a capacity of 3,000 and is located within the Merdeka 118 precinct.  Stadium Merdeka, which is at the heart of the Merdeka 118 precinct will reopen to the public by the middle of the year. The fully activated stadium with sports, lifestyle, entertainment, and leisure activities will be open for community use throughout the day and evening. Merdeka Boulevard at 118 Park will also be open at the same time.

Malaysia’s first Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur will take up the top 17 floors of Merdeka 118 Tower, and is expected to be open by September.

The View at 118, will be the highest observation deck in Southeast Asia and the 2nd highest in the world, with activities for thrill-seekers such as the Edge Walk, where you can put on a harness and walk outside the tower. Once fully activated, the View at 118 is expected to cater for up to 3,000 visitors a day. There is also a Spire Climb, where you can climb up to the highest point of the tower at over 500 metres above ground.

New Omoide Artisan Ramen replicates the Japanese ramen taste

PT Akasha Wira International has unveiled its latest Omoide Artisan Ramen, which comes in straight ramen noodles. The ramen (105g) has a separate seaweed sachet and beef seasoning to replicate the Japanese ramen soup noodle taste. 

The other Japanese noodle products under the Omoide range are Carbonara Udon (260g) and Kake Udon (150g). The Omoide series makes Japanese noodle dishes accessible to more Indonesian consumers, thanks to their affordable prices.

Auntie Anne’s uses oats to bring snacking to new heights

FoodStar communicates provenance in refreshed DeeDo Yogurt Drink packaging

FoodStar Co, the producer of DeeDo fruit juice in Thailand, has given its DeeDo Yogurt Drink a new mascot and a new packaging. The new DeeDo Yogurt packaging communicates France as the source of the yogurt to convey a sense of quality. The yogurt drink is made with nine essential amino acids.

In 2023, the company refreshed the packaging of its Mikku Yogurt Drink to communicate the use of Hokkaido milk.

Tipco says no to added sugar and sweetener

Juice producer Tipco has launched a 100% apple juice without added sugar cane and sweetener. With only 70kcal, the company communicates how the new healthier apple juice that is low in calories helps with weight management. Tipco Select Zero is naturally sweet. 

Tipco allays consumer concern about the high sugar content in juice by positioning Tipco Select Zero not as a cause of weight gain but as a solution to help consumers manage their body weight.

Tipco is also educating consumers on the difference between no sugar added, which is naturally sweetened from the ingredient, and sugar-free, where the sugary taste comes from the sweetener. The key message is to encourage consumers to choose juices without added sugar and sweeteners.

In another development, the Thai juice producer has recently launched Tipco Fruit Mix with orange rich in vitamin A and C and Tipco Chewy with nata de coco in various flavours. Tipco has also given its Tipco Fruity Mix a new look.
