GT Spice Manufacturesr Introduce New Innovative Local Baked Food Series In Malaysia With Plans To Expand Into International Market By 2024

Minni sets to attract the younger and trendier market with its healthy leisure baked goods that satisfy palates both locally and internationally intending to put Malaysia’s yums on the global food map.

KUALA LUMPUR, 7 OCTOBER 2022 – GT Spice Manufacturers Sdn. Bhd, a locally established spice and snacks manufacturer, announces the launch of their new and innovative baked food series under the brand name ā€œMinniā€ which is set to change the norm on typical snacks.

Its new brand, ā€œMinniā€, is derived from both founders’ last names ā€œMinā€ and ā€œNiā€.

Minni offers premium and flavourful baked leisure food made from high-quality yellow peas as its main ingredient. Its leisure food series are all baked instead of using the fried method. The team behind the brand wanted to ensure that its food offers a healthier alternative for consumers on the go who want a quick bite.

Minni currently offers three authentic and spicy flavours – Korean Spicy, Tangy Spicy and Tomato BBQ. Non-spicy variants will be introduced in the coming months.

ā€œMinni’s initial range of spicy flavours is the result of our extensive research on consumers’ current preferences. Many of them, especially younger consumers, prefer the spicy variant. Of course, we are working on introducing more non-spicy flavours in the future,ā€ explained Calvin Koh, the founder of GT Spice Manufacturers Sdn. Bhd. He added that Minni is vegan-friendly and gluten-free.

Minni is a new brand with a different positioning than the other brand ā€œKacang Machaā€.

ā€œMinni offers leisure baked food series while Kacang Macha offers the extruded fried yellow pea (murukku) range. Our other brand 1001Rempah carries a wide variety of spices mainly for cooking and flavouring,ā€ shares Calvin.

The Planned Future for Minni

GT Spice Manufacturers launched the Minni Baked Leisure Food series at the Selangor International Business Summit at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from 6 to 9 October 2022. The international summit will be one of their strategies to introduce the brand to the local markets, especially lifestyle retail chains such as EMART24, MIX.MY, B.I.G, Jaya Grocers, Village Grocers, and the international ones.

ā€œWhile we penetrate the local market this year, we are also targeting to expand to the South East Asian region market by 2023 followed by the European market by 2024,ā€ Calvin shared.

GT Spice Manufacturers Satisfying the Local Palates Since 2015

GT Spice Manufacturers Sdn Bhd was founded in 2015 as an ode to Calvin’s father and the time spent with him.

ā€œI remember spending a lot of time with my father, who brings us to buyĀ kacang putihĀ whenever we head back to Seremban during the weekends. TheĀ kacang putihĀ was sold by an uncle who goes around selling his snacks at the iconic Seremban Lake Gardens,ā€ shared Calvin. He mentioned that his father and the uncle had built a strong bond throughout the years. Whenever his father wind down the window of his car, the uncle would ask, ā€œKacang, Macha?ā€ and that became the inspiration behind the brand ā€œKacang Machaā€.

The uncle gave his father one murukku recipe before he retired, and Calvin stumbled upon the recipe after his father’s passing in 2009. His family was dabbling in spice powder trading while Calvin worked as a banker then. At that point, Calvin was at a crossroad, and he decided to take the plunge and went full-time into manufacturing spices and murukku upon finding the murukku recipe.

The business soared and now there are two companies under their umbrella – the GT Spice Manufacturers Sdn Bhd (manufacturing arm) and GT Snack and Spice Distributors Sdn Bhd (distribution and marketing arm).

Introducing noomoo plant-based barista milk from Singapore

noomoo is the new plant-based barista milk from Singapore. The brand, available in oat milk and coconut milk, made its maiden appearance at the recent Selangor International Business Summit 2022, which was held at the KL Convention Centre on 6-9 October 2022.

noomoo is a wordplay on ‘no moo’, which translates into meaning; a brand that contains no dairy.

noomoo Barista series are crafted to be an ideal pairing for creaming beverages based on user preferences without comprise on quality and taste.

noomoo Oat Mylk Barista has a protein count of 1.1g/100ml and 126.4mg of calcium/100ml. The slightly higher protein count improves its foaming ability.

Starbucks RTD coffee now available in Indonesia

Starbucks canned coffee is now available at Indonesia’s leading minimarket chains Alfamart and Indonmaret amidst great fanfare. The 220ml RTD canned coffee comes in two flavours Mocha and Latte.

The two products are Starbucks Doubleshot Coffee Drink Espresso Latte 220 ml and Starbucks Doubleshot Coffee Drink Espresso Mocha 220 ml.

The launch signals greater competition within the RTD coffee space in Indonesia with new players increasingly coming from the foodservice.

New Chuga Jeju Series: Plum Wine Soju with 10% ABV

Singapore’s Coolpotions has unveiled its special edition Chuga Jeju Series: Plum Wine Soju. “While soju is typically clear in colour, Chuga’s plum wine soju has a unique golden hue from Jeju harvested Korean plums. Enjoy the mellow sweetness and balanced tartness flavour signature to Korean plum wine in the form of ourĀ #playfullyrefresing and ultra smooth soju.” The soju is made from water filtered through volcanic bedrocks of Jeju.

In a similar development, the company has launched Paddle Pop Milkie for children. Each Paddle Pop Milkie has calcium equivalent to a glass of water. The ice cream has duo flavours of chocolate and vanilla.
