Refreshing with B’lue Crazy Cactus

To celebrate the arrival of summer, Sappe has introduced B’lue Crazy Cactus flavour to bring a new flavour to Thai consumers. B’lue is a flavored water vitamin drink by Danone Sappe Beverages Company Limited, a joint venture between Danone and Sappe.

B’lue Crazy Cactus is described by the company as “be surprised by the scent of cactus that will fully refresh you with benefits from vitamins. Be ready to get crazy without limit and unleash your true self.”

The existing B’lue flavours are lychee, calamansi, pear and peach.

B’lue Crazy Cactus is available exclusively at 7-Eleven before it will be made available at other retailers nationwide in the second half of 2020.

Danone previously launched the cactus and tangerine flavour in China in 2018 to match the adventurous spirit of urban teens.

New Peptein Gold to improve immune system

Thailand’s Osotspa, the producer of Peptein functional drink containing soy peptides, has added Peptein Gold in early 2020 to help consumers improve their immune system. Peptein Gold is described as containing “an amazing spectrum of rich, concentrated nutrients from world’s best superfoods to protect, recover, and repair your physique and to revitalize your life.”

The Peptein Gold range comprises camu-camu, tremella and acai.

Peptein Gold Camu-Camu contains camu-camu, which is high in vitamin C, Tibetan sea buckthorn offering vitamin C and amino acids and aronia berry for antioxidants. Other ingredients include grape seed extract, pine bark and red grapes.

Peptein Gold Tremella consists of tremella, a yeast-like fungus rich in polysaccharides, as well as brocolli and monk fruit.

Peptein Gold Acai is made of acai rich in vitamins and minerals, aronia berries, purple carrot, grape seed extract, pine bark and monk fruit.

Vitaday releases vitamin water enriched with vitamin C and vitamin B complex

Thailand’s General Beverage, the maker of Vitaday functional drink, has launched two functional water products enriched with vitamin C and vitamin B complex. The vitamin water drinks offer 200% of the daily vitamin C requirement and 100% of the daily vitamin B requirement to strengthen the body especially during the current pandemic period. The vitamin C Quali-C is made in the UK by DSM.

The new breed of vitamin water is free from sugar but is enriched with vitamin, which makes it healthy for you. Brands are now re-visiting the vitamin water concept with the launch of Vitaday vitamin water and Ichitan’s PH Plus 8.5 with vitamin B complex.

Vitaday, which also makes high vitamin C functional drink, recommends consumers to consume both its vitamin water and functional drink and pair with either collagen/zinc/gluta to achieve the desired health or beauty results.

The wide-mouth bottle makes it easier for users to add collagen and other supplements into the bottle. The wide-mouth bottle also ensures the honey lemon and chrysanthemum scent can be quickly released when opening the closure to offer the additional aromatherapy touch to make consumers feel relaxed and rejuvenated.

Mama instant noodle sales rose, prices of cup noodle reduced

Instant noodles have benefited from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic as stay-at-home Thai consumers turn to convenience foods including instant noodles. This trend has benefited instant noodle players like Mama. Vathit Chokwatana, president of Saha Pathanapibul Plc, the distributor of Mama instant noodles, said sales of its instant noodles rose 8% in the first quarter of 2020, reported infoquest.co.th.

As consumers are staying at home for an extended period of time and are looking for value-for-money offering, this has translated into higher growth for pack, up 20% during the first quarter of 2020, compared to cup, which grew by a mere 10%. SHAH ALAM, 8 May 2020 – Living up to its brand promise of being Probably The Smoothest
Beer In The World, Carlsberg Smooth Draught offers smoother business resumptions for
coffee shop operators with a RM3.5 million subsidy and promotion to smoothen traditional
eateries’ business recovery following the impact from Covid-19.

The fund is Carlsberg’s pledge of solidarity and support towards the Malaysia Singapore
Coffee Shop Proprietors General Association (MSCSPGA) by subsidising the utilities payment,
up to three months, of 1,000 small and medium-sized coffee shop operators nationwide. In
addition, the brewer while also run a price-off promotion that enables participating coffee
shops to make higher profitability with every bottle of Carlsberg Smooth Draught sold.

From May to July, consumers can enjoy RM1 off on big bottles of Carlsberg Smooth Draught
(580ml) at participating coffee shops, where Carlsberg will donate an additional RM0.50 per
bottle sold to operators in hopes of increasing their profit margin for a smoother recovery
towards the gradual lifting of the Movement Control Order (MCO).

Stefano Clini, Managing Director of Carlsberg Malaysia, said, “Coffee shops are integral to
the local F&B market by serving thousands of Malaysians daily in their neighbourhoods and
we are grateful for their support of our brands. This initiative is the result of collaboration and
endorsement by the Malaysia Singapore Coffee Shop Proprietors’ General Association
(MSCSPGA) on how Carlsberg can help provide relief to low-income coffee shop operators
who have been financially impacted by the Covid-19 outbreak.”

for delivery and takeaway during the MCO period on social media.”

Make A Difference to 1,000 Low-Income Families Rice Bowl — With Fave’s ‘Kasih Ramadan’ Initiative

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 6 May 2020 – This Ramadan will be like no other in Malaysia. Large gatherings are prohibited and cut off from their communities, and the less fortunate and low-income families are at risk of hunger. In the spirit of #KitaJagaKita, Fave has launched an initiative under the social campaign ‘Kasih Ramadan’ to encourage Malaysians to purchase Ramadan meals for those who are hit the hardest in Malaysia.

Fave has prepared a food matching programme like no other to support 1,000 refugees, needy families and daily wage earners who struggle to access food during the month of Ramadan due to the Covid-19 pandemic. More than 600 meals have been donated to low-income families over the past few days which are adequate for one evening dinner of 150 families with four people.

With the help of Malaysians’ generosity, users can purchase set meals for a family of five or ten from three designated restaurants on the Kasih Ramadan website. The food will be distributed to three organisations: the Al-Hasan Volunteer Network, Pertiwi Soup Kitchen and NGOHub. Fave users are able to contribute to feed families in need by buying RM60 or RM110 deals and may share anonymous messages of encouragement or gratitude with each other.

Fave’s food matching programme provides favourite Malaysian hearty meals such as Nasi Lemak & Ayam Goreng, Nasi Kukus and Nasi Minyak freeing families from worry about where their next meal will come from during the month of fasting.
