Happy Chef innovates with buldak and tteokbokki

Happy Chef in Thailand has launched a series of new products including Happy Chef Tteokbokki and Cheese with Hot Sauce and Chicken with Buldak Sauce and Cheese Topping. These products tap into Korean inspired flavours and foods with tteokbokki or topokki emerging as a popular product in Southeast Asia.

The company has also released Minced Pork with a separate spicy dipping sauce sachet.

Happychef (Thailand) Co Ltd saw its revenue in 2020 surged 33.16% year-on-year, reversing from a 9.19% fall in 2019.

QminC Manuka Honey Collagen rides the vitamin + beauty trend

QminC by Thailand’s Tera Food & Beverage Co has expanded the vitamin-fortified functional drink to the collagen space. We have seen the shift of the category from purely vitamins or a combination of different vitamins to one that incorporates skin-beneficial ingredients like collagen.

The latest QminC Manuka Honey Collagen contains 4,200 mg of manuka honey from New Zealand to protect the skin from free radicals. The drink also features collagen tripeptide (2,500 mg) for skin rejuvenation as well as L-glutathione, vitamin A, E, C, B3 and zinc.

QminC Manuka Honey Collagen is available at 7-Eleven for a price of THB 25.

Terra Food, a unit of Chok Yuen Yong Industry Co, a Nakhon Ratchasima-based manufacturer of tapioca starch, is known for its QminC curcurmin drink with lemon (​vitamin C), vitamin B6, B12 and L-glutathione.

Lay’s Thailand releases potato sticks and cheese burger flavour

Lay’s in Thailand is offering two new snack products including Lay’s Zhencui (真脆) potato sticks and Lay’s Cheese Burger potato chips.

Lay’s Zhencui is a product from China and comes in original and cheese butter flavours.

 

Kewpie releases apple cider vinegar made from 100% natural fruits

Kewpie has released a limited edition Apple Cider Vinegar in Thailand. The apple cider vinegar features the deep golden-yellow colour and rich aroma of apple. It is made from fermenting 100% natural fruits.

Kewpie Apple Cider Vinegar is produced and imported from Italy. It is suitable for menus such as for a drink or as a base for salad dressings.

Kewpie (Thailand) Co Ltd reported a 1.75% growth in revenue for the year to December 2020 with growth slowed from 7.9% growth registered in 2019 and a 6.48% growth in 2018, according to the DBD Data Warehouse.

Kewpie Cream Soup with Champignon and Truffle is ready to serve

Kewpie has launched Cream Soup with Champignon and Truffle. This ready-to-serve soup is stored chilled and can be microwaved. The soup in a cup is free from MSG and preservatives.

Kewpie Cream Soup with Champignon and Truffle comes with the Healthier Choice logo and delivers energy of 120kcal per unit.

Kewpie has an existing range of chilled ready-to-drink soup.

 

MK Restaurants launches bottled suki sauce

MK Restaurant, one of Thailand’s suki chains, has made available its famous suki sauce in a bottle. We are seeing more foodservice chains in the country including Oishi pivoting their operations towards packaged retail with bottled sauces to target in-home consumption.

The MK Restaurant Suki sauce (500ml) is priced at THB 89 per bottle.

 

 

Imperial Cookies x Sunquick collab throws a flavour challenge to sandwich cookies segment

Imperial, the KCG Corp brand, has launched the all new Imperial Cookies x Sunquick Sandwich Cookies. The sandwich cookies come with the Sunquick Mandarin flavour, making this flavour a unique addition to the sandwich cookie segment dominated by OREO.

KCG is the distributor of Sunquick concentrated flavoured drinks in Thailand.

The company has previously launched Imperial Sunquick Orange Yogurt Wafer.

New Imperial Cheese Dip Wholewheat Crackers out now

KCG Corporation’s Imperial has released Imperial Cheese Dip Wholewheat Crackers in the Thai market. This product fits cheese nicely into the consumption occasion for biscuit, thus furthering the cheese intake in the country.

Imperial Cheese Dip is said to be a good soure of calcium.

New Masita x Pinkfong collaboration targeting children

Singha’s Masita seaweed snack is back and this time it has Pinkfong’s Baby Shark as its collaboration partner. The available flavours are spicy and original. The Masita seaweed snack is free from MSG and presevatives, making it suitable for children to consume.

Geprek Bensu launches low-calorie Mie Hijau Geprek Bensu with Yellow Fit Kitchen

Geprek Bensu has collaborated with Yellow Fit Kitchen, a provider of healthy and diet catering approved by nutritionist. The limited edition menu Mie Hijau Geprek Bensu or Geprek Bensu Green Noodle is low in calorie at 475kcal per serving.

Mie Hijau Geprek Bensu is only available from 28 June 2021 to 4 July 2021. The latest menu highlights the better-for-you trend in the foodservice industry and the role that healthy noodles can play.

Apart from Yellow Fit Kitchen, Geprek Bensu has partnered with Mayora Indah’s Roma Malkist Abon cracker to introduce Rogout topped with Sambal Geprek. The collaboration did not stop there. In fact, there is also another new dessert menu featuring Mayora Indah’s Biskuit Better called Pudding Better X Geprek Bensu.

Finally, Geprek Bensu has unveiled its latest menu known as Geprek Bensu Ayam Tumbuk Sambal Daun Jeruk and Ayam Tumbuk Sambal Embe.
