Towards better heart health with F&N NutriSoy, celebrating World Heart Day

Singapore, 19 September 2023 – F&N NutriSoy, Singapore’s No. 1 Fresh Soya Milk, rallies towards the universal call for better heart health in conjunction with the upcoming World Heart Day. The day is specially celebrated on 29 September every year and is dedicated by the World Heart Federation (WHF) to raise global awareness about the important actions everyone can take to prevent and control cardiovascular diseases.

According to local statistics, 23 people die from cardiovascular disease (heart diseases and stroke) daily. Cardiovascular disease accounted for 31.4% of all deaths in 2022. This means that almost 1 out of 3 deaths in Singapore is due to heart diseases or stroke.

To drive home the message of heart health, F&N NutriSoy is proud to partner with the Singapore Heart Foundation (SHF), a member of WHF, in a concerted effort to raise awareness on the importance of good heart health among Singaporeans. As a social service agency, SHF is at the forefront of promoting heart health as it plays a crucial role against heart diseases and saving lives. F&N NutriSoy is also supported by SHF as a heart-friendly drink.

F&N NutriSoy is continuously inspired to innovate and offer the nutritional goodness of its products to consumers including vegetarians and vegans. The F&N NutriSoy product range is vegan-friendly and is made from natural and non-genetically modified soya beans with no added preservatives.

Within the range of products F&N NutriSoy offers, the F&N NutriSoy Fresh Soya Milk High Calcium Omega contains Omega 3 fatty acids and is available in No Sugar Added variety. Omega-3 fatty acids help reduce blood clotting in the arteries, protect arteries from hardening, and reduce the level of triglycerides in the blood. Omega 3 fatty acids help to reduce LDL cholesterol (the ‘bad’ cholesterol) concentrations in the blood. This in turn lowers the risk of heart disease1.

As advocated by SHF, protein is essential for the growth and repair of our body, and is required for many bodily functions including muscle maintenance, cell renewal, wound healing and immunity. To ensure adequate protein intake, one should consume various plant proteins such as soya beans, especially for people who adopt a plant-based diet.

Low in Glycaemic Index (GI) and Halal-certified, the F&N NutriSoy range of products contains a high protein, calcium, and vitamin D3 content compared to other soya bean drinks. Soya beans are the only vegetable source that contains all 9 essential building blocks of protein known as amino acids, found only in foods. They are rich in iron, phosphorus, magnesium, B vitamins, and zinc; and are made from superior-grade soya beans without artificial flavourings and preservatives, and are suitable for those who are lactose intolerant. Soy protein and isoflavones found in soy milk can lower LDL cholesterol, leading to better heart health.

And the best part? You can do it without breaking the bank, thanks to the affordable treasures waiting to be uncovered through Lazada’s RM9.90 All In. Prepare to dive into a whirlwind of innovative tips and tricks that will revamp your living space!

  1. The Magic of Decluttering

Sometimes, a budget-friendly home makeover begins with the enchanting act of decluttering. Prior to the grand symphony of decorating, let decluttering set the stage. A tidy space instantly feels more inviting. Rearranging your furniture and eliminating unnecessary items can instantly open up your surroundings and make it feel more uplifting.

To do so, invest in storage solutions like shelves, baskets, and storage compartments to keep your space neat and visually appealing. Witness how you can miraculously transform your shoe cabinets and save space with the Multi-Layer Floor Shoe Rack Shoe Storage, which lets you pamper your shoe collection without cramping your style! Another charmer that works wonders for your overcrowded wardrobe is the Foldable Storage Bag Box Organiser.

  1. Lighting Plays a Role

The magic of lighting cannot be underestimated. Believe it or not, lighting can play a big role in not just dramatically altering the ambience of a room but also affecting your mood overall.

A few well-placed lamps can enhance the atmosphere of any room and with many affordable, style-defining options to choose from, there’s always something that can dance to the rhythm of your taste. Soft, warm lighting like these Night Lamps are sure to make any space feel warm and welcoming, while brighter lights can lend an air of vibrancy and energy. Be sure to experiment with the placement of lights to create focal points in your rooms.

And for the eco-conscious, check out the marvel that is the Wireless Smart Sensor Light, which ensures both style and sustainability!

  1. Thrift Shopping At Its Best

There is something beautiful to behold in vintage or retro furnishings. Quite often, thrift stores, flea markets, and garage sales are where you can find these rare, handcrafted, designer pieces at incredibly affordable prices. From antique-inspired frames and decorative mirrors to rustic furniture, these unique pieces can lend character to your living space without burning a hole in your pocket.

Combining modern and traditional decor can create a stunningly captivating ambience within one’s living space. The fusion of these two styles brings together the best of both worlds – the elegance and functionality of modern design and the timeless charisma of classic aesthetics.

Starting small and gradually integrating pieces like decorative items can initiate the transition. For instance, even introducing something as simple as a Vintage Traditional Ethnic Style Pillow Case can instantly give a room some much-needed colour, transporting you into the good days of old.

Transforming a space doesn’t just have to be a visual effort, as you can also engage the other senses such as smell with the Vintage Incense Burner Ceramic. After all, aroma is one of the strongest ways to evoke memories.

  1. DO-IT-YOURSELF!

Design a space that mirrors your personality using DIY projects. By upcycling furniture, designing personalised artwork, or even crafting self-made decorative pieces, you can infuse a distinct charm into your home’s environment.

If you’re up to the challenge, elevate the comforts of your living room with these captivating 3D Wall Stickers, and give those plain walls a much-needed facelift that can add some depth and dimension to your room. If mirrors resonate with your taste, explore Lazada’s wide collection of Wall Mirrors, each exuding an air of sophistication that can become a feature for your wall, but also enhance and reflect lighting throughout the space.

  1. Embrace Greenery

Last but not least, incorporating greenery indoors is a fantastic way to bring your living spaces to life with the vibrant hues of nature. Whether by cultivating real plants or placing artificial flowers, the introduction of leafy greens and blooming flowers can impart an element of freshness and vitality to any home.

For those with a green thumb,  consider getting the Japanese Red Maple Tree Seeds for Planting, which can be an incredibly rewarding experience for those who enjoy gardening and enjoy seeing the fruits of their labour. The vivid and striking colours of the Japanese Red Maple tree can instantly become a focal point in any room, bringing the energy of the space to life with its dynamic, fiery presence.

If gardening isn’t your cup of tea, artificial greenery like the Artificial Ivy Vine is a great alternative for those natural vibes. The realistic appearance of these vines make them ideal for balconies or high ceilings, and when draped along shelves, hung from the ceiling, or incorporated into a centrepiece can provide an earthy, lively element of nature that brings the room together.

There is no doubt that mastering the art of crafting an exquisite living space within budgetary constraints is a skill that requires you to be creative, resourceful, and discerning with a good eye for sensible, yet impactful design. However, if you learn to thrift shop and take up a DIY project, you can take control of your abode and transform it into a haven of elegance without undue financial strain.

These wallet-friendly suggestions are sure to guide you in crafting a space that authentically mirrors your individuality and taste. Always remember, however, that it’s the passion and dedication poured into fashioning your ideal dwelling that matters, and not the monetary value attached.

(Left) Grand Prize Winner, Maniyamin Binti Mamat and (Right) Assistant General Manager of Julie’s Biscuits, Mr. Raymond Kwan

Kuala Lumpur, 20 September 2023 – In response to the overwhelmingly positive feedback from last year’s contest, Julie’s was thrilled to bring back their nationwide ‘Cheese! I ‘Nut’ Emas’ contest for the second consecutive year. The Buy and Win contest ran from June 15th to July 31st, 2023. This year’s contest was even bigger and better than before, with more prizes up for grabs and a higher total prize amount of RM150,000.

The custom gold prize was inspired from the shape and golden appearance of Julie’s signature Sandwich Biscuits. This contest also serves as the brand’s creative outlet, with its tagline ‘Cheese! I ‘Nut’ Emas’ playfully resembling the Bahasa Malaysia phrase ‘I Nak Emas’ (I want gold) in a homophonous manner. The words, ‘Nut’ and ‘Cheese’ used in the tagline also paid homage to the brand’s long-standing popular Sandwich Biscuits in Peanut Butter and Cheese flavours.

The Cheese! I ‘Nut’ Emas contest was open to all Malaysians. There were over 30 prizes up for grabs, including 30 of 10g gold prizes worth RM3,500 each, and one grand prize of 100g gold worth RM35,000. All participants just needed to purchase Julie’s Peanut Butter and/or Cheese Sandwich Biscuits for a minimum of RM5, and they were in the running to achieve their goal for gold.

Julie’s Peanut Butter and Cheese Sandwiches are favourites for both young and old, serving as signature Julie’s items for a unique Julie’s experience. Julie’s Cheese Sandwich features a golden, crispy, lightly salted round cracker sandwiched between slightly sweet and salty cheese cream. Julie’s unique Peanut Butter Sandwich boasts a rich and aromatic peanut butter cream paired with golden, crispy, lightly salted, toasted round crackers, making it the perfect snack for any occasion.

Tzy Horng Sai, Director of Julie’s Biscuits, said “In the second consecutive year of our contest, a limited-edition customized gold nugget is crafted to resemble Julie’s iconic sandwich biscuit. The excitement was palpable, and everyone was eager to take part in sending across their voice recording. We are equally thrilled to have celebrated with our winners, who walked away with Julie’s custom-made gold prizes. This initiative is our way of spreading joy to our valued consumers,” remarked Tzy Horng Sai, Director of Julie’s Biscuits.

Maniyamin Binti Mamat from Pahang emerged as the Grand Prize winner, expressing her delightful surprise, “I was truly taken aback because I hadn’t anticipated winning the grand prize in this campaign. I’ve always been a devoted fan of Julie’s and wish to extend my heartfelt thanks to Julie’s, as well as to my husband, who consistently assists me in purchasing Julie’s biscuits. Being a nurse, I often share Julie’s biscuits with my colleagues, and I also donate them to the anak yatim (orphanage) house. I believe that this is the good fortune I’ve received as a result of my contributions.”

Raymond Kwan, Assistant General Manager of Julie’s Biscuits, said “We’ve witnessed a substantial surge in demand from our retailers, all thanks to the excitement generated by this contest. It’s a testament to our commitment to supporting our trades and creating memorable experiences for shoppers. We’re looking forward to building on this success and continuing to exceed expectations.”

Furthermore, over the course of six weeks, we selected five winners each week, resulting in a total of 30 lucky individuals.

A significant number of participants enthusiastically joined the Cheese! I ‘Nut’ Emas campaign. We are thrilled to witness such a remarkable level of engagement and response from Malaysians. Once again, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for every valuable participation.
