Hiap Giap Food Manufacture innovates with healthy noodle Good Gut featuring lactobacillus

Singapore’s noodle maker Hiap Giap Food Manufacture Ptd Ltd has showcased its latest innovation – Good Gut at FHA, Food & Beverage Asia 2022. Good Gut is is said to be the first noodle in Singapore made with lactobacillus. It is formulated with high nutrients, high fibre, antioxidants and lactobacillus, which helps to support your digestive health.

According to the company, on Good Gut noodle is equivalent to one cultured milk and has billions of good bacteria.

We see great potential to upgrade noodles including instant noodles into healthier choices so that consumers can receive essential nutrients during the mealtime.

New Unisoy Soy Pudding Premix spotted at FHA 2022

Unifood Int’l (S) Pte Ltd, the maker of Unisoy, has unveiled its latest Unisoy Soy Pudding Premix at FHA, Food & Beverage Asia 2022. Unisoy Soy Pudding Premix allows you to make your own dou hua or soy pudding at home. The product is free from gypsum powder and is made from 100% organic soybean. Other ingredients include, calcium carbonate, sugar, non-dairy creamer and carrageenan.

Just pour a sachet of soy pudding premix into a bowl and add 260ml of boiling water and stir gently until completely disssolved. Let it cool at least 10 minutes and store in the fridge until it set. Best served chilled.

Yogood Fruit Smoothie and Protein Smoothie set to debut in Malaysia

Malaysia’s Pristine Gourmet Food Industries Sdn Bhd has showcased its latest Yogood Fruit Smoothie and Protein Smoothie in a pouch at the recently concluded FHA, Food & Beverage Asia 2022 in Singapore.

The range comprises two products – Fruit Smoothie Blended Fruit Puree (120g) with Pomegranate, Acai, Cranberry and Oats and Protein Smoothie Blended Fruit Puree (120g) with Mango, Carrot, Banana and Passion Fruit. Both are products from Spain.

Protein Smoothie has a high protein count of 5.2g/100g to support the needs of active consumers, while Fruit Smoothie has a protein content of 0.7g/100g.

 

Farm Fresh opens milk tea brand Jom Cha, offers milk refilling service

The Malaysian dairy company Farm Fresh has finally launched its own milk tea brand Jom Cha. The new milk tea chain offers 20 various flavours of boba drinks under 6 different categories – most of which are made with Farm Fresh’s own products, such as fresh milk, yogurt and plant-based milk.

Jom Cha also offers soft serve made from Farm Fresh’s fresh milk.

The expansion into milk tea makes sense as Farm Fresh already produces most of its raw materials. Jom Cha creates a demand for Farm Fresh dairy products and helps to showcase Farm Fresh’s offerings. Jom Cha is also a way to generate additional income for the company possibly through the franchise system, thus creating additional means to attract more enterpreneurs beyond the current hugely successful Home Dealer program.

In another development, Farm Fresh has opened a milk refilling station at Jaya Grocer 163 Retail Park, Mont Kiara. Consumers can purchase the glass bottle at RM 3 and proceed to fill it up with Farm Fresh’s Milk on Tap at RM 7.90 (Total price: RM 10.90). The milk refilling program is aimed at promoting sustainability.

Vietnam’s Long Hung launches Wakai plant-based yogurt from purple sweet potato

Vietnam’s Long Hung has recently launched Wakai plant-based yogurt fermented from purple sweet potato using Japanese technology. The drink contains fiber, anti-aging Vitamin E and anthocyanin naturally found in purple sweet potatoes.

The product range comprises the following items:

  • Wakai Kids in strawberry flavour for kids (110ml) – VND 36,000
  • Wakai Active for young people (250ml) – VND 72,000
  • Wakai Gold with added almonds for older consumers (250ml) – VND 72,000

Nestle Vietnam rolls out new convenient Nescafe Latte in carton

Nestle Vietnam has launched Nescafe Latte made from Robusta and Arabica coffee beans. The RTD coffee comes in a screw cap in a carton making the drink convenient especially suitable for active young people who want to enjoy coffee anytime, anywhere.

Nestle Vietnam has also improved the formula of its Nescafe 3-in-1 coffee and has launched a sugar-free version as well.

New Richer Milk cashew milk is produced from Vietnam’s cashew nuts

Vinapro has introduced Richer Milk, a new cashew milk in Vietnam. The launch of Richer Milk marks the first cashew milk produced from Vietnam’s own cashew nuts. Vietnam is the world’s largest producer and exporter of cashew nuts, which ensures Vinapro has a steady supply of affordable cashew milk for its Richer Milk.

Richer Milk (180ml) contains 94% of cashew milk. The new plant-based milk contains unsaturated fats that help reduce the amount of “bad” cholesterol in the blood as well as magnesium, manganese, calcium and Vitamin K to promote the healthy growth of bones and teeth to reduce the risk of osteoporosis.

Richer Milk Cashew Milk contains nutrients and minerals that naturally promote collagen production. The antioxidants and zinc in cashew nuts increase the production of immune cells, which help to improve immunity. The drink also has Vitamin B complex.

Richer Milk is available in three variants – cashew milk, barley cashew milk, cashew milk without sugar.

The key ingredients in Richer Milk Cashew Milk are cashew nut juice 94% (water, cashew nuts 55 g/l), almonds, sugar, whey protein, vegetable fat, stabilizer (460(i), 466, 415), milk calcium, emulsifier (471), table salt, acidity regulator (339(ii)), antioxidant (307b), vitamins (Niacin, B1, B6). The protein count is 1.5g/100ml.

The key ingredients in Richer Milk Cashew Milk Without Sugar are cashew nut juice 99% (water, cashew nuts 55g/l), almonds, stabilizer (460(i), 466, 415), calcium from milk, emulsifier (471), salt, adjuster acids (339(ii)), antioxidants (307b), vitamins (Niacin, B1, B6). The protein count is 1.2g/100ml.

We are seeing more launches of plant-based offerings in convenience stores in Southeast Asia as a way for plant-based players to introduce consumers to their plant-based products.
