A unique way to discover the enduring appeal of the golden age, enjoy The Boy King from the “The Discovery of King Tutankhuamum”, to Urban Pioneer from “A Time for Bold Ideas.” Each chapter is a celebration of moments from history that still resonate today with a series of dynamic cocktails.

“This menu was such a fantastic effort from all the team, and is a unique journey through traditional European influences and flavours,” says Jesse Vida, Head Bartender at ATLAS. “To have won World’s Best Cocktail at Tales is an incredible honour for us  here at ATLAS and we are immensely proud and humbled.”

Interbellum is available until the end of October, after which, ATLAS looks forward to welcoming guests to enjoy its new menu.

JGDEV Invests in SEA’s Leading Shopping Companion Amid Global Pandemic

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, September 18, 2020 – Southeast Asia’s leading e-commerce aggregator, iPrice Group, raises an additional undisclosed amount from JG Digital Equity Ventures, Inc. (JGDEV) to its series B investment amidst the coronavirus pandemic. Through its group of companies, JGDEV provides iPrice with a wide range of opportunities to be Southeast Asia’s best shopping companion and e-Commerce enabler.

iPrice’s platforms continue to grow in web traffic (up to 60%) since social distancing measures were set in place across the region. Overall, the e-commerce industry enables consumer spending to continue especially with social distancing. Before COVID-19, a Google-backed report predicted that Southeast Asia’s e-Commerce would reach $180 billion by 2025. However, with e-Commerce’s recent accelerated adoption, the industry is expected to experience a hypercharged growth. Hence, e-Commerce may even rise above the projected GMV.

Amidst the rising e-Commerce trend, iPrice positions itself as the leading shopping companion to consumers and an e-Commerce enabler to digital gateways, such as online media and super apps.

“iPrice has a unique approach. It doesn’t aim to compete with other players, but instead, it enables these players to have more channels. As a result, it connects them to more consumers. iPrice is more than just being exposed to the recent e-Commerce trend; it enables consumer transactions to be deeper and wider through its comprehensive understanding of the digital economy,” said JGDEV President and Chief Executive Officer Jojo Malolos.

Opportunities to Bring More Value to Filipino Consumers through the Gokongwei Group’s Ecosystem

iPrice enables consumers to access e-Commerce in the diverse digital economy through its partnerships. With JGDEV, it begins with RewardsMart in the Robinsons Rewards mobile app and Summit Media’s online domain, PEP.ph.

iPrice now allows Robinsons Rewards users to access millions of products from thousands of merchants across the Philippines. The e-commerce aggregator ensures the best shopping experience by providing a platform that compares products, prices, delivery schedules, and offers vouchers and coupons.

Meanwhile, PEP.ph readers are now able to access exclusive online coupons and promos in a wide range of categories, such as ElectronicsFashionBeauty & Health. Offers from e-Commerce giants like LazadaShopeeZalora, , Cebu Pacific, and PayMaya will be readily available on the PEP website as well.

Robinsons Rewards and PEP.ph are just two of the startup’s potential partnerships and solutions. iPrice and JGDEV will continuously explore more opportunities across the Gokongwei Group of Companies that may bring more ease to Filipino shoppers.

“iPrice’s value proposition is focused on helping shoppers navigate the complex and often confusing e-Commerce space. We have previously provided services to users searching for options on Google. Given many consumers start their e-commerce journeys in other places, we are providing these same services to partners. With the breadth of JGDEV’s businesses, there is a multitude of opportunities for cooperation,” said iPrice Group Chief Executive Officer Paul Brown-Kenyon.

With JGDEV’s mission to find sustainable and scalable business models that can create value for the core businesses of the Gokongwei Group ecosystem, this investment partnership will prove to be symbiotic. The Gokongwei Group ecosystem focuses on e-Commerce and exploring new technological innovations. JGDEV promises a fast-moving dynamic among its organizations to deliver the best value it can bring to its consumers.

JGDEV also aims to create an impact on consumers, business growth, and the future of the economy. With its new relationship with iPrice, it is enabled to further achieve this. Currently, there are many more opportunities being explored with the Gokongwei Group ecosystem that can take its current value proposition a step further. At the same time, iPrice will continue to reach its objective to be present everywhere for Southeast Asian consumers. It will continue to be the region’s leading shopping companion and e-commerce enabler.

This investment is a continuation of iPrice Group’s Series B Investment, led by ACA Investments Pte Ltd with participation by Daiwa PI Partners, and returning investors LINE Ventures, Mirae Asset-Naver Asia Growth Fund.

Keeping active in Germany, from the North Sea to the Alps

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, September 24, 2020 – With plenty of breath-taking vistas in Germany, there is something for everyone when keeping active during the holiday season, whether they are rivers and lakes or mountains and valleys. While travelling to Germany may not yet be a possibility in 2020, countries like Singapore and Germany are making inroads to ensure safe travels for holiday-goers in time to come so that we can #DreamNowVisitLater. Additionally, with the #DiscoverGermanyFromHome campaign, launched by the German National Tourist Board, visitors from Southeast Asia can virtually experience destinations in Germany — across the 16 federal states — from the comfort of their own homes. Plus, with all the fitness regimes and goals accomplished during Circuit Breaker or lockdown, training for cross-country biking will now be a breeze.

The Best of Both Worlds: City and Country

With more than 200 long distance cycling routes in Germany, there are plenty of opportunities to see what its cities and countryside have to offer. The Rhine Cycle Route provides the quintessential German experience. With the river being at the heart of life in many parts of Germany, cyclists can explore the history, culture and significance of the river from its source in the Alps to the North Sea coast. This route passes many UNESCO World Heritage sites, including the celebrated 194-metre-high Loreley Rock cliff in the Upper Middle Rhine Valley, as well as the idyllic medieval-era town of Constance, known for its impressive council building that was the home of the 1417 papal election.

Meander Through Germany’s Wine Regions

Cyclists who like to enjoy a taste of the finer things in life can explore routes through German wine country and vineyards. During the ultimate German Wine Route, cyclists traipse through one of the largest wine regions in Germany, where lush vineyards drape the terraced slopes between the foothills of the Palatinate Forest and Rhinland Plain. Here, there are plenty of taverns and wineries where pitstops to taste Rieslings, Pinot Blancs and Dornfelders are not only recommended, but a way of life. For those looking for an alternative, the Moselle Cycle Route cuts through the southern Vosges mountains in France and takes cyclists through the twists and turns of romantic valleys and Middle Moselle Roman wine presses. This cycling path also meanders past the Bliesgau UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, known as the Tuscany of the Saarland with a rich culinary culture. Visitors interested in taking this route, can also hop on the 360° virtual ride and ride through the loops and curves of the Moselle, from Koblenz to France.

Relive a Part of Germany’s Magical History

History buffs can take in the sights and sounds of the Allgäu Castle Park Cycle Loop, a 219-kilometre long route that comprises both scenic, historical and culturally stimulating experiences. After drinking in the sights of Füssen’s old town, the trail leads cyclists to Hohenschwangau, with its stunningly regal views of Alpine peaks, royal palaces and museums dedicated to Ludwig II — the fairy tale king. This path takes cyclists through the foothills of the majestic Alps, with plenty of castles, palaces and monasteries to visit, including the Falkenstein Castle, Pilgrimage Church of Wies — a UNESCO World Heritage Site — and the Kaltentaler Brauhaus, known for its home-brewed beers.

Hike Through a Slice of Paradise

Those who may not be comfortable on bicycles can also explore Germany’s many athletic, leisurely, family-friend and cultural hikes. With 50 routes of varying categories and a 200,000-kilometre network of trails that are peppered through some of the most stunning terrains, going on foot does not have to mean missing out on the beautiful sights and sounds of Germany. Roam through nature parks, national parks, UNESCO Biosphere Reserves, and even mountain summits — all complete with hiker-friendly accommodation and hospitality.

A day-long hike on the 66 Lakes Trail — an hour outside Berlin — takes visitors through numerous lakes, streams, rivers and marshes while marvelling at historic monuments like the Sanssouci Palace and Cecilienhof Palace. Spectacular waterscapes aside, the Heidschnuckenweg Trail takes hikers through a sea of idyllic lilac fields and heaths dotted with Heidschnucke sheep, whose delicious meat and carpet-making wool are renowned in the region.

Dubbed as one of Germany’s most beautiful hiking trails, The Painters’ Way combines romantic hikes in the Elbe Sandstone mountains with enchanting landscapes that provided inspiration for Romantic-era painters such as Caspar David Friedrich. Such views clearly transcend time, being the backdrop of Hollywood movies like The Chronicles of Narnia and The Grand Budapest Hotel. If leisurely trails are the order of the day, opt for the Goldsteig Trail, a classic Bavarian route named after the once-precious commodity of salt, or “white gold”. Now, it is more famous for the unmistakable Bavarian beer, where the amber nectar perfectly matches the region’s hearty cuisine.

Cycling or hiking, there is plenty to discover in Germany’s expansive natural landscapes, Alpine forests, as well as culturally significant locales.

PlayStation 5 is Finally Here. You Might Not Have to Wait Long to Get It at Discount Price

This Wednesday, after much anticipation, Sony finally unveiled the price and release date for its next-gen console – the PlayStation 5.

Clocking in at S$729 for the Standard version and S$686 for the Digital version, the PS5 will be officially out on Nov 12th and consumers in Singapore will be able to make pre-orders from September 18th.

First reactions on social media show that these price tags are reasonable for gamers who were immediately on the preorder list. It is no wonder, though, we have all been dying to put our hands on the console.

However, this is no doubt massive as not all of us might be able to purchase a PS5 at launch right away. The PlayStation 5 Standard version will be the most expensive PlayStation console to date (the PlayStation 4 was launched in 2016 at S$599), putting it out of reach for some, especially younger folks.

The good news is if money is tight, you might not have to wait very long for the situation to change, according to a report by e-commerce aggregator iPrice Group.

Using data, iPrice Group predicts that by May 2021 or 6 months after the official release, you will be able to get the PlayStation 5 Digital version for S$564 or the Standard version for S$686.

That means potentially saving up to S$35, a great boon to many who are keen to witness the price reduction in the country.

Then by November 2021, prices will likely drop even further to S$521 for the Digital version and S$634 for the Standard version, nearly S$95 less than Sony’s introductory price.

We came to this conclusion by examining the price history of PlayStation 4 Pro. We collected and compared selling prices of the console throughout the years on over 150 online shopping websites.

And we noticed that the average online selling price for Sony consoles tends to drop by 6% six months after release and then by a further 8% one year after release.

These amazing prices often come in the form of seasonal discounts from nationwide online retailers or deals from unofficial sellers in the city-state. Whichever the case, selling online allows these sellers to offer better prices than traditional retail.

So be on the lookout for those sweet, sweet deals!

In case you want to wait for the official price drop from Sony, that might take a lot longer. The first official price drop for the PlayStation 4 happened two years after its initial launch, and price was slashed by 15%.

There you have it. By simply practicing a little bit of patience and being savvy, you will soon be able to snag that next-gen console for an extremely good price.

Methodology

Price history information for the PS4 Pro was taken from iPrice.sg’s data base, aggregating over 150 online shops selling brand new products at the lowest price. Official release prices were taken form Sony’s announcements.

About iPrice Group
