BRIN and Meatless Kingdom to develop meat analogue based on cell mycoprotein

Badan Riset Inovasi Nasional (BRIN) through Pusat Riset Mikrobiologi Terapan (PMRT)  has collaborated with Meatless Kingdom to develop meat analogue that is based on cell mycoprotein as a new alternative protein, according to BRIN. Meatless Kingdom is an Indonesian company focusing on producing mushroom and plant-based food products since 2016.

The partnership will see BRIN conducting the research and Meatless Kingdom focusing on the mass production and market commercialization.

One of the aims of the collaboration is to address high incidences of protein malnutrition due to the limitation of animal protein production in Indonesia.

JustKitchen Launches MrBeast Burger™ from its Ghost Kitchens in Malaysia

Consumers in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Can Now Experience MrBeast Burger™ via the JustKitchen App and Third-Party Delivery Service Providers

VANCOUVER, BC, Nov. 29, 2022 /CNW/ – Just Kitchen Holdings Corp. (“JustKitchen” or the “Company”) (TSXV: JK) (OTCQB: JKHCF) (FRA: 68Z), an operator of ghost kitchens specializing in the development of delivery-only food brands, announces that it has launched MrBeast Burger™ food items to consumers in Malaysia. Pursuant to its previously disclosed agreement (the “Agreement”) with Virtual Dining Concepts (“VDC”), the Company has licensed the MrBeast Burger™ (“MrBeast Burger™” or the “Brand”) brand and begun offering it to consumers via three of its ghost kitchen locations on November 11, 2022.

MrBeast Burger™ is available in Kuala Lumpur via two of the Company’s ghost kitchen locations, including Bukit Bintang and COOX Glo Damansara. The Company also launched the Brand to consumers in Selangor state through its location at the COOX Syopz Mall at Taylor’s University.

The Company’s launch schedule for MrBeast Burger™ in Malaysia included the following aspects:

  • Exclusive media tasting at the Bukit Bintang location for over 40 members of the press and KOLs on November 2, 2022;
  • Showcase at COOX’s press event on November 8, 2022;
  • Launch on Shopee Food and at COOX Taylor’s University pop-up location on November 11, 2022; and
  • Available via Grab Food on November 18, 2022 and available on Foodpanda on November 25, 2022.

The Company launched MrBeast Burger™ in December of 2021 via a separate arrangement that has been superseded by the Agreement. MrBeast Burger™ will continue to be available via JustKitchen in Taiwan and Hong Kong, while the brand is planned to be launched in the Philippines and Thailand later this year.

Street Churros launches Initiative to Spotlight Local Artists

Street Churros has launched “Espresso Yourself” — an initiative to help shed more light on our local artists by offering them a chance to get their designs on our coffee cup sleeves for one year. Additionally, due to the working nature of artists, Street Churros is also offering cash prizes alongside free coffee for one year.

This initiative is held in collaboration with Nassuha (@nassuha on Instagram and Twitter), who is a Malaysian artist that has found success in his field. He now hopes to give back to the community who had helped him grow.

This initiative runs from the 10th of November all the way to the 10th of December.

Artists all around Malaysia can join this competition either by physically drawing on the cupsleeve for our hot drinks, or by downloading Street Churros’ template online and drawing digitally. Spending money on Street Churros’ products is not compulsory and will not affect the participants’ winning chances. Charna offers healthy dishes in collaboration with hospital provider

Food Passion Co, the operator of Charna restaurants, has teamed up with ViMUT Hospital. The hospital offers assistance in ensuring each dish offers an adequate amount of nutrients to reduce consumers’ risk of developing chronic non-communicable diseases. They also emphasise on the sourcing of chemical-free raw materials as well as on the cooking process.

As part of the collaboration, Charna offers eight healthy dishes for diners including poke bowl and salad.

We have seen how hospital has commercialised healthy food and drink leveraging on their trusted brand name. There is a potential for more hospital-owned brands to fill the gap for nutritious products.
