Castrol Hari Mekanik Malaysia 2023 Celebrates Usung Local Heroes

Imagine A World Without Mechanics…

KUALA LUMPUR, 21 March 2022 – Castrol, one of the country’s leading automotive lubricant companies, hosts their fifth ‘Castrol Hari Mekanik Malaysia’ campaign. The theme for the year, “Celebrating Malaysian Mechanics” was curated as an initiative to show appreciation and raise awareness towards the unsung heroes of automobile experts in Malaysia.

‘Castrol Hari Mekanik Malaysia’, celebrated on 18 March annually kicked off this year with a unique one-of-a-kind video, released on 1 March 2023. The heart-warming video entitled “A World Without Mechanics” was showcased on social media platforms, YouTube and Facebook.

Additionally, Castrol will also be hosting a “Castrol Mechanics Contest”, targeting Castrol Auto Service workshops and mechanics, to reward and show appreciation towards local mechanics that will run from 1st April 2023 until 31st May 2023. All entries can be submitted via the Motorist App, an exclusive application available for all Castrol Auto Service workshops.

“At Castrol, we believe in the value and importance of our mechanics and strive hard to raise awareness in celebration for their service to us every day. We celebrate ‘Castrol Hari Mekanik Malaysia’ on 18th March every year to show our mechanics appreciation and advocate for their roles today, always keeping road users safe, providing them the best service when needed. All mechanics from the top three workshops, divided by regions (Northern region, Southern Region, Central Region, East Coast region and East Malaysia region), with the highest sales volume during the contest will win the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro 6.67 inch (128GB), worth RM1,149. The top three workshops per region, will also be credited 8,000 EZ Rewards Points, worth RM800, that can be used to redeem rewards via the EZ Rewards platform.

Castrol Asia Pacic Took Fans to Watch The Premier League in London

On the topic of showing appreciation, Castrol also realised the dreams of two consumers, following the Castrol Game Changers contest in partnership with the Premier League. The champions were flown to London to watch the Tottenham Hotspurs Vs Chelsea match in February 2023 at the Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium where the Spurs won 2-0. They were also given the opportunity to experience the exclusive world-class Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium hospitality and spent time chatting with Spurs legend, Michael Dawson.

Anugerah Guru Inspirasi McDonald’s Returns for the Seventh Year in Collaboration with Ministry of Education to Recognise Teachers

The Anugerah Guru Inspirasi McDonald’s returns for the seventh year, inviting Malaysians to appreciate and share inspiring stories of their teachers

KUALA LUMPUR, 20 MARCH 2023 – The Inspirational Teachers’ Award – or better known as Anugerah Guru Inspirasi (AGI), organised by McDonald’s Malaysia in collaboration with the Ministry of Education (MOE) Malaysia, is back again as the quick-service brand’s way of recognising and appreciating teachers who go the extra mile in helping their students achieve academic excellence and shaping the future leaders of Malaysia.

Nominations for AGI McDonald’s 2023 is now open from 20 March until 15 April 2023, where Malaysians are encouraged to nominate their teachers by sharing stories of how their teachers managed to positively impact them and changed their lives.

Malaysia can now submit their nominations as a gesture of gratitude and appreciation towards admirable teachers who have left a positive impact on their lives. Nominations can be submitted through: https://www.mcdonalds.com.my/en/anugerahguruinspirasi

For this year, McDonald’s Malaysia is increasing the prizes as their commitment to reward the 25 selected inspirational teachers and their nominators. In addition to the cash vouchers worth RM5,000, as well as a trophy and certificate awarded to the inspirational teachers, the respective school of the winners will also receive an allocation of RM5,000 to upgrade the teachers’ staff room.

To further encourage students to display their appreciation for their teacher, every qualified nominator will receive the National Level Participation Certificate. This certificate will contribute towards their Physical, Sports and Co-Curricular Assessment (PAJSK) marks at school.

“McDonald’s has always been appreciative of the countless contributions from our teachers, who have made selfless sacrifices for the development and nurturing, as well as the positive impact provided to children in the aspects of academic, co-curriculum and character building. AGI McDonald’s is a platform created and introduced by McDonald’s seven years ago, with the purpose of recognising and appreciating our teachers across the nation,” said Dato’ Azmir Jaafar, Managing Director and Local Operating Partner, McDonald’s Malaysia.

“This year, for the first time, McDonald’s Malaysia has also prepared an allocation of RM5,000 for the purpose of upgrading the staff rooms of the 25 selected inspirational teachers. Meanwhile, student nominators will also be issued National Level Participation Certificates,” Dato’ Azmir added.

This year’s collaboration between McDonald’s and the Ministry of Education Malaysia is an initiative by McDonald’s Malaysia in response to the Ministry’s call in the 2023 New Year Mandate for more corporate participation through various projects, such as CSR, to realise People-Centred Education.

Other than the award ceremony, McDonald’s will also be inviting selected teachers across the nation to participate in the Teachers’ Day celebration at all McDonald’s outlets from the 1 to 31 May 2023. This is also an initiative by McDonald’s to celebrate teachers for their contributions and roles as the community’s backbone in educating and making a significant impact on the students.

Organised by McDonald’s Malaysia since 2017, AGI McDonald’s is an annual event that is recognised by the Ministry of Education Malaysia. Since its inception, AGI McDonald’s has been a much-anticipated event which has never failed to attract nominations every year.

As of 2022, AGI McDonald’s had received more than 30,000 nominations, with 131 inspirational teachers awarded since 2017.

Award recipients are chosen through a meticulous process by a panel of judges consisting of representatives from McDonald’s Malaysia, the Ministry of Education Malaysia, and members of the media industry.

Thai Glico brings Japan’s best-selling almond milk Almond Koka to Thailand

Thai Glico has launched Almond Koka, Japan’s best-selling almond milk, to tap into Thai consumer interest in healthy drinks and plant-based drinks. The company is known for its ice cream and confectionery in Thailand. The launch of Almond Koka represents the diversification of the company into the local beverage market.

Thailand is also the first market where Almond Koka is launched. Almond Koka is available in 180ml in three variants Original, Unsweetened and Chocolate. The product has been available online since December 2022 and is now available in physical stores. Thai actress, model and singer Davika Hoorne, known as Ma, is the face of Almond Koka.

Almond Koka will be competing head-to-head with Simple Foods’ 137 Degrees, a market leader in the almond milk category in Thailand. We believe Thai Glico will be leveraging on Glico’s Japanese heritage, flavour and quality to promote Amond Koka.
