The Italian Baker Sdn Bhd Maintains Price of Staple To Aid Malaysian Households
KUALA LUMPUR, 13 October 2022 – The price of the Massimo White Sandwich Loaf will not increase thanks to The Italian Baker Sdn Bhd’s initiative to help ease inflationary pressure on Malaysian households by maintaining the price of its popular staple unchanged.
In a statement, The Italian Baker Sdn Bhd, makers of Massimo breads and baked goods, confirmed that the prices of its 400g and 600g White Sandwich Loaf would not be increased from the current RM2.80 and RM4.00, respectively.

Chairman of The Italian Baker Sdn. Bhd., Jeremy Goon stated, “Bread, specifically white bread, has become an anytime, anywhere staple food among all Malaysians. As a caring and concerned corporate, The Italian Baker Sdn Bhd has decided to maintain the price of our popular White Sandwich Loaf as white bread should remain affordable and accessible to all, especially during economically challenging times. We would like to assure consumers that they will enjoy the same great taste and the same excellent quality at the same affordable price.”
The Italian Baker Sdn Bhd acknowledged global and local inflationary pressures are affecting the company, as it has affected the rest of the industry. The company cited escalating logistics costs, and the rise in raw material prices, including all bakery ingredients, as the main factors.
“We have held out from raising prices for as long as we could, and will maintain the price of the Massimo White Sandwich Loaf for the foreseeable future. However, effective 15th of October the price of all other Massimo bread products will increase from between RM0.10 to RM0.60, and the approach is in tandem with the rest of other bakery brands.” he said in closing .

The Gardenia Breakthru Funwalk was officiated by Mr. Mohd Azhari Bin Mohammad, Director General of National Youth and Sports Department , witnessed by Ena Suhaila Abas, the Marketing Manager of Gardenia Bakeries (KL) Sdn. Bhd., and the brand ambassador for Gardenia Breakthru, Dato’ Azizul Awang. The fun walk gained an overwhelming response from consumers across Peninsular Malaysia.

The Gardenia Breakthru Funwalk began with an aerobic exercise to warm up the muscles. The two kilometres fun walk then kickstarted at 8:30 am with a flagoff released by Mr. Mohd Azhari, alongside Dato’ Azizul and Ena. The walk ended at 10.00am and participants received a Gardenia Breakthru loaf at the end of the course. Not only that, a Gardenia Breakthru Funwalk jersey and a Gardenia Breakthru drawstring bag were already given upon event registration.
